For other enquiries, please contact [email protected] We invite you to join us in the Sustainable Energy Europe Campaign. Together we can make a difference. Find out more about the campaign, becoming a Partner or organising an Energy Day event on www.sustenergy.org For media, if you are interested in knowing more about the Sustainable Energy Week or attending, please contact the Media Desk [email protected] “Take a Week to change tomorrow” EU Sustainable Energy Week 9-13 February 2009 The EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) is the key annual reference point for sustainable energy issues in Europe… and for 2009 it just got bigger and better! With more than 70 events in Brussels, Belgium and now 60 events planned in another 15 countries, the third edition of the EUSEW will take place on 9-13 February 2009. It will build on the success of previous years and once again offer participants a unique opportunity for cooperation and alliance with a wide range of stakeholders, from national experts and policy makers to local citizens. All of the events are organized by official Associates or Partners in the Sustainable Energy Europe Campaign. They will cover the most relevant energy topics, giving latest information and suggesting creative ways of working together towards a common goal: sustainable energy production and use across Europe. Take a look at what is happening in your region and don’t forget to book your place in Europe’s most important energy event. Together, we really can make a difference! For further details and online registration: www.eusew.eu Sustainable Energy Europe is an initiative of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Energy and Transport. Its aim is to raise aware- ness and inspire all European citizens to fight climate change through smarter energy use. Now extended until 2011, the Campaign is widely recognized as a major communication effort that, together with legislation and sup- port programmes, represents the third pillar in the EU’s sustainable energy policy. Since its launch in 2005, more than 560 Partners have joined the Campaign and benefited from greater visibility of their sustainable energy actions at a European level; 164 Energy Days and Campaign events have been supported, involving more than 400 000 people across the European Union; regular contact with more than 4 000 journalists across Europe has resulted in more than 600 articles in written and online press about the Campaign, a third of which covered the EU Sustainable Energy Week; video features about the key aspects of the Campaign have been broadcast on television networks across Europe, with an estimated audience of 42 million viewers.
