Pass / Fail OptionsThe Pass/Fail policy gives undergraduate students the option of taking a course for credit but without quality points. Students receiving a grade of “P” for the course will receive course credit but no quality points. However, a grade of “F” received by students will be treated as a regular failing grade. Students who are beyond their freshman year are permitted to take one course pass/fail per semester, with a 15-credit limit throughout their undergraduate college career.All courses in the liberal studies program and major/minor fields are excluded from this option. Instructors will not be notified of the identity of Pass/Fail students—this will be handled in the grade processing procedures.
Students have six weeks from the beginning of the semester to exercise the Pass/Fail option for a course (note specific published deadlines). Pass/Fail forms, available in departmental offices, must be filed by the specified deadline for validation in the Scheduling Center in Clark Hall.

Compete with Students Across States
Three students from CHIN202 (Spring 2012) participated in the Chinese Proficiency Competition held at Saint Vincent College, in March 2012. One student (Jazmmin Jones ) won the second place prize and attend the final competition held in New York with students from other 23 institutions in Eastern U.S.

Christopher Barr (left in the back row), attended the Third Hong Kong Cup Chinese Speech Contest, as one of the eight finalists at the senior level, held in the SUNY Global Center of the State University of New York in fall 2013. The Contest was organized by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in New York (HKETONY). Approximate 130 students from 16 universities in six states entered the contest
Receive Various ScholarshipsHannah Frishberg received the Chinese Government scholarship to study in China for 2014‐2015.This scholarship is awarded through the Chinese Embassy, Washington, DC. by the Chinese Ministry of Education, and selected by the American Association of State Colleges and Universities. The scholarship will cover her tuition, room and board, health insurance, travel/conference allowance/fees.
Sierra Sailor received the PSECU International Education Scholarship ($2,000) from the PASSHE Foundation to support her to study in China in fall of 2014.
