Brain Exercises to Recharge Your Mind
Being Positive is Very Simple
Over the years there has been a tremendous amount of research done on the effects of being positive, and the effects of being negative.
The research is clear. It really does pay to be positive and the benefits include enhanced health and longevity, happiness, career advancement, athletic performance, team building and financial success.
Being positive isn’t just a nice way to live. It’s the way to live.
And it’s about much more than just posting a positive quote near your computer, repeating positive affirmations, or just thinking positive thoughts.
In fact the best advice just might be to start hanging around positive people, especially if you struggle with being more positive than not on your own.
Get around, and stay around positive people until you have being pretty positive most of the time.
Consider your motivation for the day. Before you even think about what you want to do today, spend some time thinking about who you want to be. Now focus some mental energy in that direction.
For myself, being positive is very simple, it’s all about “what you’re for“, and being negative is
simply “what you’re against.”
In fact I know that to be so true, especially for how my mind totally shifted from my time on Biggest Loser that I decided right before our finale, that I wanted to be forever reminded about the one major life lesson Jillian taught me.
A lesson that helped me leave any and all negative thinking behind.
That message was a quote that I took away from an intense conversation I had with Jill at one of my most vulnerable, most broken moments on the show.
Tired, homesick, thinking I was ready to go home, Jillian called my bluff and gave me a 90 minute one-on-one beat down doing all she could do to break me.
make me quit, and yet through all of that I didn’t, because I knew she wasn’t giving up on me, I was giving up on me.
And when I got that, I said never again, I have so much more in me, so much more life to live, and most of all live it well. Jill wouldn’t let me any longer be “against” myself, she showed how to always be “for” myself.
So now I have a tattoo which is forever by my side as my 24/7 reminder that says…
“what you’re for strengthens you”
What I didn’t tattoo on my arm was the other part of that saying, “what you’re against weakens you.”
Now I’m not suggesting you tattoo your favorite life-affirming quote on your arm, but what you might want to consider to ponder and look into is the following list of 11 documented research studies that proves the power of positivity.
Read the blog for the list…
So where’s your head with being positive. Does it come easy for you, or do you struggle? Who or what is your positive go-to resource to put your head in a better place when you’re having a tough time, when the wheels are falling off?
