The BIM-iss’ main objective is to prepare students for real life projects and challenges. The request for the BIM software solutions has increased around the world.

The aim is to offer you a comprehensive training to successfully face any architectural/engineering chal-lenge. Beside software usage instructions, the trainers will share valuable tips from their experience in the construction industry.

The course will be conducted by ALLBIM.net trainers and by professors from the Faculty of Civil Engi-neering and Building Services from Iasi.

Target audience:• architecture and engineer undergraduate students• graduate students• structural engineers• building services engineers

Location:“Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iasi, Romania, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Building Servic-es in the ALLBIM.net Laboratory

Topics:• structural analysis by FEM• structural elements (beam, column, plate, wall, shell)• supports and loads• structural model of reinforced-concrete and steel• stability analysis• dynamic (earthquake load) analysis• design of reinforced concrete structure• design of steel structure• building services: Ventilation, Heating, Sanitation, Electrics• project / BIM management

Nowadays, building requirements are becoming increasingly complex and have to meet higher stand-ards. This leads to the necessity of learning BIM and AEC planning methods and the appropriate soft-ware, for both engineers and architects. The advantages of working in a 3D environment, allows a good correlation between multiple disciplines, which is essential to control clashes, quantities and precise execution.

The BIM-iss’ main objective is to prepare students for real life projects and challenges. The request for the BIM software solutions has increased around the world.

The aim is to offer you a proper training that will make you ready for the real-world challenges that any engineering or architecture office is facing daily. The training will not only limit to software usage, but also engineering knowledge will be shared.

The BIM International Summer School targets mainly architecture and engineering undergraduate stu-dents. During the two weeks of the summer school, common lectures will be held in order to understand the importance of working as a team (architect, civil engineer and building services engineer). Also, separate classes will be held for each topic. At the end of the summer school, students will be divided into small groups and a tutor will be assigned to each team to oversee a project. The most interesting projects will be selected and registered in the BIM Challenge student competition.

Emphasis is on one hand on how to use BIM Software and on the other hand, how to correlate practical skills with theoretical knowledge gained in university - Structural Statics & Dynamics, Reinforced Con-crete and Steel for civil engineers; minimal construction theoretical elements for the architecture stu-dents.

RequirementsIt is highly recommended for the civil engineer applicants to have basic knowledge of Strength of Materi-als and Structural Analysis (Structural Statics) or Building Services Systems.

However, no restrictions exist for students studying architecture.

Applicants are asked to bring their own laptops. If this is not possible, we offer a total number of 15 PC on which the Allplan and SCIA software are installed.

All international students are required to have health and travel insurance from their home country prior to their arrival in Romania. This type of insurance has to be valid in case any health services will need to be used while staying in Romania. For students coming from the EU countries their EU health insurance card is valid under the stated terms and conditions.
