In addition to helping students understand the steps involved in solving math problems or chemistry equations Wolfram|Alpha can help answer thought-provoking questions in science, probability/statistics, economics, finance, and myriad other subjects.
Understand dozens of ideas from physics and science with accelerometer, magnetometer and gyroscope. Learn how to access and collect weather data- temperature, humidity, and pressure using sensorTag. Learn about longitude and latitude and how to find your current geolocation using GPS.
Did you know one of the most powerful computational software program called Mathematica is available on Pi for free. It is used in many scientific, engineering, mathematical and computing fields and thus makes Pi a first-class platform for teaching CBM [Computer-Based Math] techniques to children of all ages.
Explore the world of Raspberry Pi with us. Raspberry Pi is a credit card size computer originally developed for learning basic computer science. It is an extremely versatile device which can be used to design and build electronics projects that interact with the real-world. It is one of the useful platform for learning different domains of STEM [Science, Technology, Engineering, & Maths] education. We will introduce you to the platform and help you to unlock the full potential of Pi with following tools.

Sponsored by Rajiv Gandhi Science & Technology Foundation, Govt. of Maharashtra
Who is teaching and whom should I ask technical questions? Dr. Girish Arabale is conducting this workshop with the help of Vigyan Ashram. [He will be assisted by Suhas and few others during the sessions]. He has been tinkering with Raspberry Pi, Arduino & sensors for a while and has used these devices for his own research. He is really passionate about teaching these devices to kids for STEM education. You can know more about him at www.arabale.com. He can be reached at 9011249811 or [email protected]. Drop him a line if you have any technical queries or want to know more about Raspberry Pi, Wolfram-Alpha, & Mathematica.
Who should attend this workshop? We are specifically looking for 8 -10 standard students. However a little younger ones who think they can outsmart their seniors are also welcome.
What should I bring for the workshop? Nothing except your regular notebook, pen and your bubbling enthusiasm. We will take care of rest of the things.
Do I have to know a lot about programming or electronics for joining the workshop? Not really. If you can start your home computer without anybody’s help, you should join. However a little familiarity with the above-mentioned subjects will help you to understand the concepts more easily.
How can I register for the workshop? The registration fees for the workshop are 1000/- Rs. You can pay the amount by cash, cheque, or via bank transfer. Please contact Suhas Labade [Instructor- Vigyan Ashram] at [email protected] or call him at 9730543120 for the payment details and registration. Please note that we have limited seats and admissions will be on a first-come-first-serve basis. So hurry up. All outstation candidates should talk to Suhas for the accommodation possibilities and other arrangements.
