LEARNER MAPSMaking learning visible
What is a learner map? Learner Maps is a visual representation of children's
learning.
It draws on ideas from mind mapping, infographics and
Mike Rohde's Sketchnoting handbook to create an
assessment tool that helps us to zoom out to see the
whole child.
Learner maps are messy, creative and a load of fun.

Why use learner maps? It helps us to zoom out and take a holistic view on children’s
learning and progress.
It generate creative and in-depth conversations about
children’s learning.
It’s affordable and we don’t need access to technology to
create them.
Learner maps can explain complex ideas quickly and clearly.
