• Your course will need to be in edit mode.

• Blackboard has a syllabus feature-Gives a course overview.

• Built in syllabus feature has three sections:

• You can also upload your syllabus as a PDF item in Blackboard.

3. ASSESSMENT AND MEASUREMENT: SURVEYCreating a Blackboard Survey: This is a two-step process:

1. Add the test or survey

2. Make it available

How to Add a Test or Survey to a Content Area

• Navigate to the course area where you want to add a survey.

• Click on the Assessments tab and click on Survey.

• Select survey from the Add Survey list.

• Click Submit. The survey appears.

How to Make a Test or Survey Available

• After you deploy a test or survey in a course area, you set its availability.

• On the Survey Options page, click Yes to Make the Link Available to users. Set the availability for the survey.

• Click Submit.

Creating a Turnitin Assignment: To add a Turnitin assignment, follow these steps:

1. Select Turnitin Assignment using the Create Assessment pull down menu

2. Select Paper Assignment by clicking on the radio button next to Paper Assignment

3. Click on the Next Step button

4. On the assignment creation page, enter assignment title and the point value for the assignment (optional)

5. Select start and due dates for the assignment.

6. Select whether the assignment will require Originality Reports for submissions or whether any file type can be uploaded. The default option is to Allow only file types that Turnitin can check for originality.

7. To see more options for the assignment, click on the Optional settings link

8. Modify any other assignment options

9. Click submit to add the Turnitin assignment to the course

ASSESSMENTS-GRADE CENTER• You access the Grade Center from your Control Panel.

• Click on Grade Center, then click on Full Grade Center.

• The Grade Center resembles a spreadsheet (also work offline capabilities).

• You can customize the Grade Center view.

Step 1: Organize Grade Center. Click Manage-Create grading periods (quarters, semesters, etc.)

Step 2: Add Color & Categories Color Codes (Grade Status and Grade Ranges)

Step 3: Add Smart Views & Organize columns

Step 4: Row Visibility & Send Email (email students directly from the Grade Center)

• Each row is populated by a user in your course.

• Each column includes information for an item, such as an assignment, test, graded blog entry, or survey.

1. Download the Tegrity Recordings Manager Installation2. Double-click the downloaded file TegrityManager.exe3. Tegrity Recordings Manager will launch in a few moments4. Two options in Blackboard Collaborate: Web Conferencing/Live Sessions or Recording(Moderators can record live sessions)

• Edit Room option in Web Conferencing/Live Session

• Add Link option to course content

• Invite Blackboard guests or outside guests

1. Web Conferencing-Virtual office hours instructors can allow students to share video, audio, whiteboard, and post chat messages.

2. Recording-Start and stop recordings. Use features to share desktop screen, PDF documents, and PowerPoint presentations.

The Campus Pack Journal is a space for private thoughts, opinions and reflections, and is private between the student and the instructor.

A Campus Pack Blog can be shared among an entire class, shared within a group, or shared with the whole world.

There are four options that can be used to create the Journal: Create a Blank Journal, Copy from Existing Journal, Add Short Cut, and Import an Archive.

WIKI, BLOG, AND PODCAST DEPLOYMENT There are three different ways to deploy Campus Pack wikis, blogs, and podcasts:

• Single Copy - useful when you want either the entire class to work together or a group to collaborate and the non-group members to eventually see the work.

• One Per Group - Useful when you want a site for each group in your class to work and you do not want those groups to ever see each other's work.

• One Per Person- Useful when you want a site for each person in your class and you do not want them to ever see each other's work. When used with Blog it is effectively the same as a journal.

These options are only available for Wiki, Blog, and Podcast.

8. ACCESSIBILITY AND USABILITY:ADAPTIVE RELEASE AND STATISTICS TRACKINGExamples of Basic Adaptive ReleaseUse the following examples to learn how to apply basic adaptive release in your course.

• Release content on a specific date:Use a date rule to keep students focused, and to control when content is released as the term progresses rather than releasing all course content at the beginning of the term.

• Release content on a specific date, but to students with a certain grade:Use a date rule and a grade rule together. For example, allow students to take review tests an unlimited number of times. However, you do not want the review tests to appear until the end of the unit, and only to students who have achieved 65% or more on the previous test.

• Release different content to a group of students:Use a membership rule to release different versions of assignments or tests to different groups of students, or to provide additional or customized content items to different groups.

• Release content to specific students:Use a membership rule to make additional review material available to students who request it.

• Release content according to student working speed:Use a review status rule to allow students to work at their own pace, so as not to overwhelm them or hold them back. You can allow content to be released after each student reviews it.
