Shows Lorraine, Leon and Mark told people
about the elections and introduced
the new MPs and Assistant MPs.

make the Citizen forum better.

7. Update – What we do and how we do it
(Terms of Reference) Everyone talked about changes to be
made in The Terms of Reference. Lots
of changes are needed.

• Jason to talk to Nick about the Partnership
• Board Meetings
• GLLaB will tell the Partnership Board how they can

• Jason will send Terms of Reference to Vicky to show
at the next meeting
8. Universal Credit
Caz Colclough spoke about changes
to Universal Credit. People who are
sick or disabled can claim Housing
Benefit. They do not need to apply for
Universal Credit
• If you get Severe Disablement
Allowance in your benefits you do not
have to claim Universal Credit

• If you have changed to Universal
Credit but should be still getting other
benefits you may have lost money.
This will be paid back to you.
• If you live somewhere where you get
support you may still get Housing
Benefit paid to where you live.

9. MP News
Debbie and Denise went to the TfL Big
Day on the 21st June. They spoke
about the learning disability
awareness training that the bus drivers
have
All the MPs and Assistant MPs had
Safeguarding Training
Debbie went to the council staff team
meeting to tell the staff

about the Parliament and the
elections.
She told staff how they can help to
get more people with a learning
disability involved.
The MPs had their first Citizen Forum
Planning meeting.
The next Citizen Forum will be at
Sherard Road on Friday 13th
September

Jason told everyone about Your View.
Housing at Greenwich Council would
like to know what people with a
learning disability have to say about
where they live.

Colette told people about The Big
Health Check Up day.
Greenwich, Lewisham, and Bexley will
all take part

11. Carers Report
Adult Social Care meeting to get
people’s views about changes to how
you pay for your care
Councillor Lekau and staff from Adult
Social Care told people that there
may be changes to how much money
people have to pay for their care.
Some people will have to pay more
money. Others will not have to pay as
much money for their care.
There will be a meeting for people with
a learning disability to ask you what
you think about the changes.
Carers Forum
Jason and council staff told people
about how Greenwich Council will
give support to people now and in the
future.

The Carers Centre said they want to
meet with the council so carers can
have their say.
Alison Graves Psychotherapist will
meet with some carers for a 12 weeks
course to have talking therapy. This will
start in September.
Learning Disability Fun Day
Lots of people went to the day and
had fun.
Golden Lane Housing
Golden Lane had a review of how they
work. Diane Young who works at
Golden Lane was waiting for the results
of this.
The housing contract for supporting
people at Golden Lane will end in
March 2020
Avril would like to know what will
happen at Golden Lane in March 2020

Sainsbury Sunflower Lanyard
Avril said that Sainsbury will help
people if they need support and wear
a sunflower lanyard.
People can get the sunflower lanyard
from Sainsbury’s stores.
12. Anything else Transforming Care Update
Colette told people that there are 4
people with a disability in long term
hospitals. There are plans to move
them from the hospitals
.
