Timeline for Certified Enrollment Entity (CEE) and Certified Enrollment Counselor (CEC) Process

2 days 4 days 6 days 10 days 15 days 20 days 25 days

CEE Submits Application

CEE application approved

CEE receives email regarding CEE Mgmt. Webinar training

CEE completes Mgmt. Webinar training online ( CEE should complete in 30 days – but here lets assume CEE finishes the training immediately )

CEE is Active

CEC receives email with Login information from Learning Management System (LMS) ( 3-5 business days after CEE application Submission)

CEC logs in to LMS and registers for their ILT Session or Self-Guided Training

CEC completes 2.5 days ILT training or Self-Guided Training

CEC completes CoveredCA.com training and passes the exam

CEC submits the Criminal Disclosure Form by mail to Covered California and receives fingerprinting at the available LiveScan locations (Will take up to 2 weeks to receive the Approval report)

CEC will be certified if they meet all the requirements 1. Must pass CEC exam 2. Must clear background 3. CEC agreement must be on file 4. CEE must be Active

• CEEs will receive an email when their CECs have been Certified with instructions to upload photos

• CEEs may upload CEC photos at any time and encouraged to upload at the start of training

Covered California training is provided through a variety of

modes, including Instructor Led (ILT), Self-Guided Training

(SGT) and Computer-Based (CBT) Training courses. The

Learning Management System (LMS) is the training system

for Covered California.

What is LMS?

• Manages who receives training

• Manages training courses assigned

• Manages content and courses available based on

How will I be using LMS?

• LMS is where a CEC can search and register for the

2.5-day ILT or complete CEC Self-Guided Training

(SGT)

• LMS is where a CEC completes the two (2) Computer-

Based Trainings

• At this time the CBT courses provide the overview of the

CoveredCA.com system.

• LMS is where a CEC completes the Certification Exam

• Other roles, such as Certified Educators, also

complete training in LMS

• If you have not received your login information yet, check your spam

filter and add [email protected] to your

“Safe Senders” list.

• CECs will receive an email 3-5 days after the CEE application is

approved.

• If you have not logged into LMS yet, please do so immediately.

To begin, click the first available Course, “CCF-401w Introduction to the Affordable Care Act” Once completed, the next course will be available. It is strongly encouraged that participants download and print each course’s Participants Guide prior to beginning so that you can follow along with the material and have resources at hand while taking the Certification Exam.

After completing the CEC Training (Instructor-Led or Self-Guided) completion will be verified and updated in the LMS. You will receive an email confirming completion of the ILT, from [email protected]. This is will unlock the remaining training items in the Certified Enrollment Counselor Certification track:

1. Login to the LMS

2. Take survey (~2 min, only required for ILT attendees)

3. Complete Computer-Based Training Modules (~2 hours)

a. CAM-500c

b. IND-510c

4. Pass the 50 question Certification Exam (set aside a minimum of 2.5 hours)

• 80% score or better

• May take exam up to 3 times (must answer all 50 questions in one sitting)

• Exam does not have a time limit, but will timeout after 20 min of inactivity

• You may use your training materials as a resource to answer questions

Certified Educators (CE) becoming Certified Enrollment Counselors (CEC) • CE conversion to CEC requires a different Learning Track than

new CECs

• CE to CECs are not required to attend ILT or SGT but may do so if desired

• CEs are required to complete a series of CBTs

• After completion of the CBTs, CEs must take a Quiz

• Background checks/LiveScan Fingerprinting and Photo Identification Badges are still required for CEs converting to CECs
