Introduction
This eLearning manual has been created as an addition to the system
administrator manual.
Conventions used in this document
This manual uses icons to illustrate comments with the following purposes.

This manual is designed to help you manage this eLearning it will cover all the
new features of the eLearning module.
You cannot switch from the text version to the new Flexible Content options.
You will have to recreate the eLearning course.

Login
You will log into the system in the same way and then select eLearning Course
Management.
eLearning Course Management
Click onto the Course Management button and you will be taken to a page
containing a table showing the list of your current eLearning courses.
In the table there will be the options to; preview, view reports, manage bookings,
see whether they are active or not, edit or delete the courses.

Preview
This allows you to see what the delegate would see when they log into the course.
To preview a course, simply click the eye icon underneath the title Preview from
within the table on the eLearning Course Management page.
You will then be taken to a new page with a preview of the course as delegates
would see it.
We advise viewing it in this format before activating so you can check for any
mistakes or changes that you may want to make
Reports
Clicking the chart icon in the Reports column will take you to a page listing out
the statuses of a delegates on that course.

eLearning course reports
Bookings
Clicking the book icon from the main eLearning Course Management table in
the Bookings column will take you to a list of all the delegates currently booked
onto the course.
You will be able to see their name, email, phone number, whether they have
cancelled the booking or not and if so, the date of cancellation and a comment
regarding why it was cancelled.
How to manually book a delegate
Underneath the list is a section headed Automatically Book a Delegate; as for the
main events section, you can use this function to search for a registered delegate
then automatically book them on to the course.

If this is a chargeable course, you may need to invoice or take payment
beforehand.
Simply search for their name and if they have been registered on the system, they
will appear in a list below the search box. Click the Add button next to their name
to add them on to the course.
Active
If your course is not yet active, you will need to edit the course to see the Activate
button at the top of the course,by clicking this you will set the course active.
Remember you can check if a course is active or not by viewing it on the main
eLearning Course Management page and looking at the Active column in the
table.
Edit
Allows you to Edit the course details and we will discuss this further in the
chapter.

Delete
Allows you to Delete the course details.
How to create an eLearning Course
With the new interactive facility, you will need to plan how you are going to create
this course.
Adding an eLearning course
At the top of the eLearning Course List, you will see Add Course button. Click on
this to add a new course.
Once clicked, a form will appear underneath the button asking you to complete
the following fields:
• Title: the title of your course.
• Question Layout: where in the course do you want the questions to appear?
choose from the drop-down list.

• Per Chapter to have them appear at the end of a chapter.
• Per Slide to have them appear at the end of a slide. (only applicable to
non-flexible content courses)
• Course End to have them appear at the end of the course.
• Pass Rate (%): select the percentage figure (%) from the drop-down that you
require delegates to achieve a pass on the course.
• Flexible Content:
Reminder that you can not change this once created.
• Select Yes if you want the new flexible content format.
• Select No if you just want a basic content.
• Limit Chapter or Slide Progression until Passed:
• Select Yes if you want the delegate to not be able to move on to the
next chapter or slide until they have passed it.
• Select No if you do not want this.
• Course Attempts: enter the number of attempts you want to allow delegates
to retake this course.
• Pass/Fail Display: select from the drop-down menu where you want to inform
delegates whether they have passed or failed.
• Per Chapter to have them appear at the end of a chapter.
• Per Slide to have them appear at the end of a slide. (only applicable to
non-flexible content courses)
• Course End to have them appear at the end of the course.
• Course End Pass/Fail Report:
• Select Yes if you want a report to be generated for delegates with
details of the pass or fail result at the end of the course.
• Select No if you do not.

• Course End Pass / Fail Report Show Answers: if you select Yes for the previous
option, now select whether you would like the report or not to show the correct
answers.
• Select Yes if you would like the answers shown.
• Select No if you would not.
• Email After This Many Failures: enter the number of failed attempts someone
needs to have on a course before receiving an email regarding their results, e.g.
if you would like the delegates to be emailed the first time, they fail a course,
enter 1.
• Rebooking Period (days): enter the number of days the delegate must rebook
onto the course if they failed it or want to retake it for any other reason.
• Listing Summary: this is a free text box for you to enter the description that
appears in the course listing on the website when the delegates go to book on.
This is used to inform them what the course is about and any other information
they may require before booking on to the course.
• Description: enter a brief description of the course.
• Pass Message: enter what you would like to appear as a message when
delegates pass the course.
• Fail Message: enter what you would like to appear as a message when
delegates fail the course.
• Event Group: this is a mandatory field all courses must have and event group.
• Event Group category: chose from the drop-down as these are optional
depending if they are created in the main system.
• Payment Group: choose from the drop-down the appropriate payment group.
• Certificate: if you have more than one type of certificate setup on the system
then you can pick the applicable certificate from the drop-down.

Certificates must be set up by Phew.
If you require more than one certificate and do not see this option, please
contact us.
Once you have completed all these fields, click the Add Course button at the
bottom of the page and the basic course will be added.
You will now have to edit the course to add the body of the course by adding
chapters, slides and questions to a course.
Slides are contained within the chapters and quiz questions will be displayed
where you have specified that you want them to when you set up the course.
How to add the body of the course
To create the body of the eLearning course you need to select the Edit button of
the course located on the main table on the eLearning Course Management
page.

Adding course chapters
To add in a chapter to a course, find the course on the main table on the
eLearning Course Management page.
Click the Add Chapter button to add a new chapter to the course. This will make a form appear to complete underneath the button.
• Complete the Title of the chapter.
• Complete the Description i.e. what the chapter is about.
• Choose the Order number from the drop-down e.g. 1 being first.
• Add a Background Image choose your picture from the location on your
machine.
The Background Image must be of this size (1920*1080) and can be
JPG, PNG or GIF.
• Once you have completed these fields.
• Click the Add Chapter button at the bottom of the box.
When a chapter has been added, it will appear in the Chapters table on the Edit
Course page.

Edit a chapter
Once you have added in your chapters, or at least the one relevant to your slide.
• Select the Edit button alongside the relevant chapter in the table on the Edit
Course page.
• Select Edit Chapter details.
This will take you to a Form where you can make any changes as required.
• Order of the chapter.
• Title.
• Text: Description.
• Add a Background Image choose your picture from the location on your
machine.
The Background Image must be of this size (1920*1080) and can be
JPG, PNG or GIF.
• Select the Edit Chapter Details button to confirm the changes.
Once you have added all your chapters you then you need to add your content.

How to add content
To add content to your course you need to select the Add Flexible Content
button.
You cannot change the Type once selected and saved.
You will be presented with a drop-down box to choose from:
Image - Full width Multi Text - Sliding Video - Full width
Image - Left Aligned Multi Text - Tabbed Video - Left Aligned
Image - Right Aligned Text Video - Right Aligned
Multi Text - Accordion Text - Two columns
Once you choose an option, they will give you different criteria to complete.
It is important to ensure that your images are of the correct size.
Once you have made your choice you will need to complete the following form.
• Order: the order you wish the content to appear within the chapter.
Choose from drop-down list e.g. 1 being first.
• Title: give the content a heading.
• Text: some detail information about the content.

• Image Full Width, Left-aligned and Right-aligned: will ask for an image.
To add the image. you need to select from the choose file and select if
from your location.
• Multi Text - Accordion, Sliding and tabbed: will also ask you to add rows.
for each row you will need to complete the order (of appearance), text
and an image.
• Text two column: will offer you a text editor for each column.
• Video: will request a source.
• Select the Add flexible content to save the content.
Edit a content
You cannot change the Type once selected.
• Select Chapter and select the edit icon.
• Under Flexible content select the slide you need to change.
• Select the Edit icon.
• Make the required changes.
• To save the changes click the edit flexible content button.

Adding and editing managing questions
From the e-learning course List, you will select the e-learning course you wish to
add your questions to.
To add questions
• Click the Manage Questions button on the Edit Course or Edit Chapter page.
• You will be taken to the Add question screen for course or chapter.
• Select the Add Question button which will load a form for you to complete.
• Question: Enter your question in the text editor box.
• Question Pass Percentage: select the percentage of answers they need to
get correct to pass the question.
• If it is a multiple-choice question and there are four correct answers they
could potentially get and you wanted them to get a minimum of two of
these four in order to pass, you would select 50%.
• If the questions need answering correctly in full, select 100%.
• Order: whereabouts in the line is this question? 1 is at the beginning.

• Multiple choices: Yes or No
• Select Yes if there are multiple choice answers.
• Select No if there are not.
• Answer Limit (If multiple choice): limit the number of answers they can select
from the multiple-choice options. This is only relevant to questions with
multiple choice answers.
Answers:
• Use the plus button to generate a new answer field
• There you enter the text for the answer in the Answer column.
• Tick the box in the Correct column if it is a correct answer.
• Select the order in the Order column using the drop-down menu.
• Delete it using the icon in the Delete column.
• Once you have completed all these fields and input all the required
answers.
• Click the Add Question button.
Edit Questions
• Select the e-learning course that you need to make amendments to the
questions and select the Edit icon.
• Select the Chapter that the questions are located and select the Edit
icon.
• Select the Manage Questions button.

This Form containing all your questions and options to edit or delete them.
• By clicking the Edit icon, a table will appear like the one you
completed to set up the question initially.
• Edit the question in any way, make the desired changes using these
boxes.
• Then click the Edit Question button at the bottom of the box.
• Once clicked, you will be directed to the previous page with the table of
questions and a green banner will appear at the top of the page
confirming your action.
Once you are happy with the questions you can press the Back to Course button
at the top of the page to make any other changes to the course or use the left-
hand side menu to go back to the main eLearning Course Management page.
Setting an eLearning course active
To make this course active, go to the main eLearning Course Management page
and select the relevant Edit button in the table for that course.

At the top of this page underneath the course name, you will see two buttons
labelled Inactive and Active Activate.
• If the course is currently inactive, the button next to this text will be filled
red.
• If the course is active the button next to Activate will be filled green.
To activate or deactivate a course, simply click the unfilled circle next to the
relevant word. A green banner will appear at the top of the page detailed which
action has been taken.
We advise you to preview a course before setting it active.
How to edit course details
Underneath the course title and activation status you will see an Edit Course
Details button. Click this to edit any of the main details or settings of the course.
Once clicked, it will generate the same table you completed when setting up the
course. The details you entered upon set-up will be automatically filled in; to
change these just delete the old information and enter in the new information.
Click the Edit Course Details button at the bottom of the page to save any
changes.
eLearning Course Reports
These are for each specific course. Clicking the chart icon from the main
eLearning Course Management table in the Reports column will take you to a
page listing out the statuses of a delegates on that course.

The report provides three sections:
How to Add more attempts
The Fail Results shows all the delegates who have failed this course and notes the
number of attempts they have left. You can provide them with more chances
under the More Attempts column should they request more, and you approve it.
The other two sections show the delegates who have passed the course and those
that are still taking the course, e.g. are midway through and have not submitted
their results.
How Delete a course
If you click to delete a course, a prompt box will appear to confirm that you want
to delete it. Once deleted, the course will no longer be visible to you or active for
your delegates.
