A Letter from The President

Dear Citizen Diplomats!

I am pleased to convey more great news from our organization. By the

end of April, we will have hosted 174 international visitors this year!

This means that we are well on our way to surpassing our target num-

ber to move to the next band level in our grant funding! This is very

good news from both a financial aspect as well as increasing our impact

as Citizen Diplomats.

The Board has begun to put focused attention on some key committees

that will help us move our mission forward. These committees include

membership, fundraising, & programs. As you may have already seen

we will be asking you, our members, to participate in these committees

by lending your thoughts, expertise, and just a little bit of time. You,

after all, are the backbone of this organization. We can't do what we do

without you so I hope you will consider sitting on one of these important

committees.

More exciting things are just around the corner...stay tuned!

Peace in partnership,

Lisa

This September, Global Ties ABQ is pleased to

announce that it will launch it’s first community-

focused program, the Global Innovator Program!

As you may know, Global Ties ABQ was award-

ed the Mayor’s Prize Award in November for the

development of the Global Innovator Program.

This program aims to build international business

and community in New Mexico while fostering

support for Albuquerque’s up-and-coming start-

up industry and small business community. The

goal of the program is to educated entrepreneurs

and investors on the global business climate and

how to successfully expand their markets. This

will be done through informative and practical

sessions and an optional tailored trade mission.

For the program’s first year, the regional focus

will be on the Americas.

Selected companies will hear monthly presenta-

tions from experts in their fields on topics such

as: Cross Cultural Communication, International

Law and Trade Agreements, International Mar-

keting, Financing, Banking, Exporting, & Current

World Issues.

Applications for program will open on June 1st.

Please share the news with any small-business

owners that are looking to have their business
