BUSINESS CASE STUDYAndrea Broughton had always been keen on hiring an apprentice and after meeting with one of the Learning and Skills team she was confident that the team had her best interests at heart.

“Originally I was apprehensive but the team at Stockton Council Learning and Skills relieved the pressure by taking the time to recruit and choose the best candidates which enabled me to focus on my business.”

With the help and support from Learning and Skills, Andrea, who runs Mrs B’s, a Children’s Club based in Ingleby Barwick, has successfully hired three apprentices to join her team.

She said, “the apprenticeship scheme has worked so well for me, so much so that I have recommended it to a friend who is now working with Learning and Skills to employ 2 apprentices of her own.”

Andrea added, “I couldn’t be happier with the service I have received. I have always found the team to be very supportive. Anyone who is sitting on the fence regarding hiring an apprentice should definitely speak to the Learning and Skills team to see how they can help grow your business.”
