GAS STATION TERMINAL SOFTWARE
What we are proposing
The software we are proposing is for a gas station terminal, which provides a fast and efficient service to the customer and can include options that offer services to the customer at a low cost. We are implementing a program that can calculate different types of fuel grades and service transactions. There are three options for the customer to chose from.

Upon selecting a fueling station the user is prompted for three options to choose from, for their fueling experience: enter 1 for Full service, 2 for Gas-and-go, and the
third is accessed by entering 0 on the terminal for a Self-service option.
How to use it
Service Option 1
The customer is prompted for the option of the attendant helping with the fueling process, once the option (1) is selected from the start menu the attendant is notified and the service begins. The full-service adds a $2.00 service fee to the final total of the gasoline purchase.
The attendant is notified at the counter to assist the customer. That attendant then helps with the fueling process. A window cleaning is provided with the full-service option. The service is a cleaning of the front windshield, passenger and driver side
windows, and the rear windshield as well, as any additional windows and mirrors on the vehicle.
Service Option 2
This is a gas-and-go option that offers the service for an attendant to pump fuel for the customer, selected by entering (2) into the terminal. Customer is prompted for the gas and go option as an alternative to self service options, this however applies a $1.00 service charge.
The attendant is notified to assist the customer.
This options allows the customer to receive the fuel they need at the pump, while the attendant pumps the gasoline for them.
This option does not offer any additional services.
Service Option 3
By entering (0) on the terminal the customer can implement a self-service option which applies no charge to the total.
Fast and convenient.
The customer completes fueling themselves.
This option applies no service charge.
No additional services from the attendant are offered.
Calculating fuel grade
For this example we chose the "full service option that is highlighted in red. The customer is shown the amount for the service charge on the screen which will be applied.
Here the customer selects the fuel grade by entering (1) for Regular or (2) for premium gas.
How does the program calculate fuel grade?

After the customer decides on the fuel grade, the software then tallies the price for gas according to the price that is specified for the gas being purchased. (To the right you can see the code that the program uses to implement this) Which simply shows $3.00 for regular gas and $3.20 for premium gas. This total is then multiplied by the amount per gallon that the user fuels their vehicle.
Here it shows how the software applies the $3.00 charge to the purchase and asks the user to input the amount of gallons entered into the terminal to final the total for the price of the gas per gallon.
If the customer was to buy 10 gallons of gas the purchase would be $36.60.
The total is then shown to the customer and the service begins. For the transaction to start however the customer must first pay for the service. The amount of gas is shown and the total for the purchase is shown with the extra service charges (if they apply).
Services and Fees...
The service applies a state and federal sales tax. The amount of taxes and fees applied are calculated and prompted to the customer.
Price of fueling.
Price per gallon of gas.
The federal sales tax is $.10.
State tax is equal to 5% of the amount of gallons purchased.
