Learning to Cook: Lesson #7 Smoked Salmon
Premise
An eskimos dreams for a perfect dinner turn out a bit
different than he intended.
Logline
A lone eskimo, Nanuk, living in an igloo out in the wilderness
wishes only for one thing, a perfect dinner. Day in and day
out he fishes and eats the same dinner over and over again, a
lone fish on his dinner plate. One day hes sitting at his
fancy table prepared like in a restaurant, but his plate holdsnothing more than one salmon as usual and he start to
hallucinate vegetables appearing around the fish and then
imagines his whole igloo made of vegetables. He snaps out of
his dream but hes hit with an idea to build a greenhouse.
After getting a self-building greenhouse pack from ACME which
is placed over his fish rack he starts growing tomatoes and
cucumbers for his dinner, they grow finely at first but the
next day theyre frozen into ice blocks. Almost crushed he
attempts one last act of desperation, he uses a vacuum cleaner
to suck out the heat from his house fire into the greenhouse.
The vegetables start to thaw but one piece of burning wood
teeters on the edge of the fireplace then finally gets sucked
in. Exploding in a ball of smoke and fire the greenhouse gets
ruined. In a strange turn of events he sits at his table once
again in front of a plate with burnt vegetables on it but also
the very first smoked salmon putting a smile on his face.
