Learning with Microsoft® OneNote® (1 Day)
This seminar provides a hands-on, practical workshop for teachers who want to explore the benefits of Microsoft®
OneNote®
for
the design and delivery of engaging learning. It will include best practice examples from schools around the world and each
participant will create at least one high-quality learning resource ready for use in their school.
Class size: 12–24. Attendees work together in groups of four.
Device requirements: All attendees to have a device connected to the network running Windows®
7 and Microsoft®
Office
2010 (Microsoft®
Office 2007 at a minimum) including Microsoft®
OneNote®
2010. Attendees may be asked to load additional
software from the Microsoft Learning Suite DVD during the training session.

9:30 – 10:30 am Using OneNote to transform learning
A practical, hands-on tour of OneNote and how it can be used to improve teaching and learning.
This session will include a focus on how to use Microsoft OneNote®
to collaborate, research and
create curricula. It will cover:
Templates / colours
Creating a section, pages and notebook
Templates / colours
Importing graphics / documents
Setting up a collaborative space
10.30 – 10.50 am Morning tea break
10:50 – 12:30 am Using OneNote to transform learning (advanced)
A hands-on tour of advanced OneNote features, and how they can empower learning.
This session will include:
Incorporating active multimedia (video, audio)
Bookmarking audio / video
Structuring a learning experience for students
OneNote as a research tool
Linked notes (in OneNote 2010)
12.30 – 1.15 pm Lunch break.
1:15 – 3:00 pm Creating powerful curricula using OneNote.
Teachers collaborate to create high-quality learning resources, which they can use in their schools
3.00 – 3.15 Next steps and additional resources
