Conditions of sale – freight information

CaNCELLatIoNs:Order cannot be cancelled after order is placed in production or if special order material is received. The order will be shipped upon completion.

rEturNs – CrEDIts – aLLoWaNCEs:Merchandise may not be returned without a return authorization (RA#). No credits or allowances will be given for repairs etc. without our written approval.

Lost or DamagED mErCHaNDIsE:Our furniture is packed in accordance with specifications established for furniture moving in interstate commerce. All merchandise is shipped F.O.B. factory – our responsibility ceases when goods are received "in good order" by the transportation company, and all claims for freight overcharge, loss in transit must be handled by the carrier.

The bill of lading is an acknowledgement by the transportation company of receipt in good condition of the shipment covered by our invoice. If any of the goods called for on the bill are short or damaged, do not accept them until the freight agent makes a damaged and/or storage notation on your freight bill. Claims for damage must be filed within 10 days of delivery. Be sure the furniture is unpacked, inspected, all carton and/or wrapping saved within this time to have a valid claim.

If your shipment consists of more than one carton and the carrier fails to deliver all items, have the agent make a shortage notation on your freight bill before signing it or paying freight. If any concealed loss or damage is discovered as the shipment is inspected, notify your local agent at once and ask him to make an inspection. (friction rubs, cracked bases, broken leg/arm, bent control mechanisms are examples of concealed damage.) Filing Claims – you must file the claim directly with the carrier – the manufacturer is not responsible for filing claims – we will assist you if needed. To file a claim you need a copy of your invoice, bill of lading, and freight bill received copy. DO NOT DESTROY YOUR CARTONS.

FrEIgHt CLassIFICatIoNs:Sofas, loveseats, recliners, chairs, and sleepers – Class #175Small chairs Class #150Ottomans Class # 85

DImENsIoNs – mFg. sPECIFICatIoNs:All dimensions indicated in our catalog are to the nearest inch. This, plus varying thickness of the covering material and the individual technique of each craftsman, account for a variation in dimensions from 1-2". Also keep in mind that our product is hand made and minor variations do occur. If specific dimensions must be met, notation of this must be made on purchase order. Manufacturer reserves the right to change specifications without notification to customers if it is necessary because of availability of raw materials, change in design, or change necessary to meet quality standards.

PrEPaID sHIPmENts/DroP sHIP DELIVErIEs:To defray the additional cost involved in processing prepay and add shipments, a service charge of $30.00 per order is applied. This is in addition to any and all applicable freight charges. The carrier will add a Drop Shipment/Home Delivery/non dock charge to your freight bill. A residence or business phone must appear on all orders to enable the carrier to contact the consignee to ascertain delivery, otherwise the shipment could be subject to storage charges or return freight charges if not deliverable.

ConstrUCtion sPeCifiCations:

FramEs: Solidly built by 5/4 (1-1/8") kiln-dried hardwood. All frame joints are double doweled, corner blocked, glued and screwed for extra strength, and durability. All items with exposed stretchers are doweled, glued and screwed. NOTE: Frames are constructed of maple unless otherwise specified.

FINIsH: Our finishes are hand rubbed and waxed requiring 19 steps on cherry wood and 12 steps on maple. Note the depth and clarity which is indicative of quality.

sPrINgs:Tempered high-carbon double cone coil springs are matched to each style to provide the best possible seating. These coil springs are eight-way tied and secured to polypropylene sheeting which is reinforced with steel bands. These steel bands run from rail to back rail and from side to side. You get added resilience, greater comfort and noise free performance. Where the design of the items does not permit the use of eight-way hand tied coil springs, the finest Pirelli (Standard) Resilient Rubber Webbing or sinuous springs are used. This rubber webbing is laced from front rail to back rail from side rail to side rail and securely attached to each for a deep comfortable seating platform.

PaDDINg:All platforms are padded with a layer of insulated deck cover, followed by a blanket of cotton for comfort and durability. Backs and arms are covered with cotton felt and urethane foam to provide a firm smooth padding under the leather, vinyl or COM covering. Back construction varies as dictated by styling.

CusHIoN DEsCrIPtIoNs:PF -Poly Fiber: High density foam core wrapped with cotton lining/or polyester fibers. Used in tight seat construction

If additional yardage is required to produce your order, customer will be required to furnish unless factory damages it.

Com – CUstomer’s oWn material

As an integral part of our complete fabric program, we will be pleased to accept your COM specifications. Include on your purchase order the name of the mill, pattern and color. Additional, a small fabric swatch should accompany the order.

To assist you in calculating the necessary yardage requirements, please refer to our yardage chart. For exact yardage requirements call the factor with all pertinent information (including both horizontal and vertical repeats, and fabric width). Periodically, where an unusually large repeat is specified, we may require an actual cutting large enough to show the repeat to assist us in providing you with the correct yardage requirements.

Where an unusually large vertical and horizontal repeat is specified on certain frames that require large cuts, additional yardage may be required.

When forwarding COM, it is necessary that your order number and the customer’s name are specified on the material. Ship all COM to: Leathercraft, Inc., 102 Section House Road, Conover, NC 28613.

The responsibility of selecting the proper fabric for an application lies solely with the customer. Leathercraft must abide by the customer’s choice and cannot be responsible for misapplication. Nor will Leathercraft be responsible for the quality of any COM; i.e. weave imperfections, poor quality, dye lot variations, seam slippage, flaws, receiving shortages, serviceabil-ity, or over all wearability. We recommend that all COM fabrics are backed; particularly loosely woven goods.

Unless specifically instructed by the customer Leathercraft will, at it’s discretion, apply the fabric as best suits the frame design with regards to pattern, match patterns, face side, placement of seams, etc.

**Loosely woven fabrics may require backing.

Ordering from Leathercraft hen ordering hides from Leathercraft, please specify the pattern, color, group number and square footage required. Our leathers are available in whole hide and half hide quantities. Whole hides average 40 to 50 square feet, and half hides average 20 to 25 square feet. Due to irregular sizes of hides, we are unable to furnish exact square footage. Please refer to the

W accompanying chart of fabric/leather conversion figures when estimating the square footage you require.

We will cut the hides to your exact specifications if you wish. The price for this service reflects additional cost of labor and increased waste.

Please refer to our current price list for pricing of leathers.

Patterns are carefully placed on hides to maximize yield, utilize areas best suited for end use and to avoid undesirable blemishes such as unhealed scars. Fat wrinkles and healed scars are considered usable, adding to the natural character of the leather.

Caring for Leather

Because leather is a natural product, it needs little or no care during normal usage. For spots and spills, blot excess liquid immediately with a clean absorbent cloth or sponge.

For hand antiqued and aniline plus leathers, use a damp sponge and suds from a mild soap. Rinse well with a clean sponge and pat dry with a towel. Clean the entire area where the spill

occurred: for example, the entire seat cushion or entire arm. Damp areas should not be dried with electric hair dryers or artificial means. Most liquids will be initiially repelled by the leather, but if left to stand over an extended period of time, they will be absorbed. That’s why it’s a good idea to mop up spills immediately.

Cleaning stains from pure aniline dyed leathers should be done with distilled water and suds from Neutrogena soap on a dampened sponge, feathering the moistened area with a clean cloth to remove the soap suds. Padding with a clean, dry white towel to remove excess moisture is then recommended. To best preserve the rich

color and feel of your leather, avoid pro-longed exposure to direct sunlight or heating units.

For sueded leathers use a brush to loosen the soil, then vacuum. Do not use water or liquid cleaning solutions as they may spot the leather.

The above cleaning instructions are general-izations. Many of today’s leathers are unique and require special cleaning instructions. Refer to your swatchcards for specifics. For severe stains please call Leathercraft for guidance.Do not use saddlesoap or any other clean-ing or maintenance product for leather not endorsed by Leathercraft as these may cause a chemical breakdown of the finish.
