Jeff Mulder, A.A.E., Executive Director April 2019 ¾ United Airlines announced they will inaugurate new service between Fort Myers and Washington, D.C., on Oct. 29, 2019. United will operate twice-daily, year-round service between Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW). ¾ In April, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) released the data conducted from October 2016 to March 2019 for its Statewide Aviation Economic Impact Study. FDOT measured on-airport, off-airport visitor spending and multiplier impacts for Florida’s 20 commercial service airports, 100 public-use general aviation airports and 11 military aviation facilities. Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) contributes more than $8.4 billion to the region’s economy from airport and related-airport activities on an annual basis. Page Field (FMY) generates an annual economic impact of $385 million. Total Output from RSW Total Output from FMY May 2019 ¾ In May, the Lee County Port Authority completed its annual FAA Part 139 Airport Certification Inspection. The process is very extensive and includes a thorough material inspection of our entire airfield and related infrastructure, as well as a review of all logs, records, manuals and training requirements. The inspection also included a timed operational emergency response of the Aircraft Rescue & Fire Fighting crews to a simulated aircraft accident on the runway. Our regulatory compliance with the exacting FAA standards is critical to maintaining our Airport Operating Certificate for scheduled flight operations. RSW received zero discrepancies this year. ¾ A new Art in Flight exhibit was installed at the end of May in the hallways leading to Concourses B and D. The 29 paintings are original artwork with the theme, “Wild Things: The Florida Everglades,” created by young artists in elementary, middle and high schools in the Lee County School District. The Alliance for the Arts invited students to explore the Florida Everglades and be inspired by the wonders of the wild things that live there. ¾ S&P Global Ratings has affirmed its 'A' long-term and underlying ratings on theairport revenue bonds issued for Southwest Florida International Airport. Theoutlook is stable. The ratings reflect RSW's strong enterprise and financial riskprofiles including increasing enplanements, excellent airline diversity, moderate debtburden, ample liquidity resources and strong management and governance with anestablished record of accomplishment in managing and operating its airport facilities.

¾ The Lee County Port Authority welcomed two new explosives detectioncanines to the Airport Police Department. K-9 Boomer, a Germanshorthaired pointer, and his handler, Master Officer John Heald, werecertified by the National Police Canine Association. K-9 Röger, a Germanshepherd, and his handler who is brand new to the K-9 team, MasterOfficer John Schaefer, trained at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas andwere certified by the Transportation Security Administration as a NationalExplosives Detection Canine Team.

¾ During June, 586,319 passengers traveled through Southwest Florida International Airport, an increase of 7.4percent compared to June 2018. Year-to-date, passenger traffic is up 9.4 percent from the same period last year.
