This story is about a client named Louise Litenburger and her horse Kissimmee located in Pilot Mt. NC. Louise having raised Kissimmee from a baby realized early on that the foal’s left front leg was terribly crooked.

When I first looked at the mare she was already 3 years old. Her left leg turned inward at the ankle all the way through the pastern to the hoof, making the left front turn almost to walking on the side of the foot. The cannon bone came straight out of the knee but was sitting 3 inches to the left of the pastern. Louise had tried desperately to get the filly help. She used many Farriers and vets over a 3 year period of time. Everyone of them told her that she would never ride her horse.

When Kissimmee turned 3 years old Louise changed Farriers for several reasons. She became extremely impressed when I, Jerry linker, explained to her that I could straighten the mare’s leg and that she would not have any trouble riding her. No one had ever suggested this to her ever before.

With the first shoeing the mare’s leg was improved by 50%. Within 90 days with a couple more shoeings, not only was her leg 90 % straight but soon after this the mare was put in training. They began riding her 3-4 times per week.

This story happened in 2005. Louise continues to this day to enjoy weekly trail rides on this horse. She is forever grateful to Jerry Linker for his abilities and knowledge! Look for yourself and you can see how straight this mare’s leg is today in comparison to her past described in this story.

Remember, don’t let anyone convince you that a 3 or 5 year old horse’s leg cannot be straightened or corrected. I have many cases where I have corrected horses with this conformation defect! I have many testimonies to this fact!
