Registration is now open for the 2020 Walk For Life! Due to the potential for restrictions concerning the gathering of large groups of people and those with vulnerable people in their lives continuing to avoid crowds, we have chosen to have a virtual event this year. As always, walkers can register and fundraise online and join us by faith—wherever and whenever—it works for them. If you get $200 or more in pledges, you’ll still get a great t-shirt! Visit legacypregnancy.org (Events--Walk for Life) to register.

Goodie bags will be available from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. for registered walkers on Saturday, June 13th at Legacy.

Since this year and this Walk is SO different, the Legacy staff have committed to dying their hair pink to celebrate a $25,000 Walk for Life. Join the fun and start getting pledges today!

Kim’s StoryYour gifts to Legacy have helped Kim’s family find a positive path! Thank you!Kim initially came to Legacy after being referred from another agency in town. She was new to the area, jobless, homeless, young, and had limited support in town when she discovered she was pregnant.Inspiteoftheobstacles, shewasexcitedtohaveapositivepregnancytestinofficeandshe had a big smile on her face when she saw her 7 week old baby on the screen. Staff talked with her about the support that was available through Legacy and she left with a Resource Guide and information to set up her prenatal care at the hospital. When asked on her exit survey at that initial visit how we could be more helpful to someone in her situation, Kim wrote, “Just do what you did for me.”

Throughout the course of her pregnancy, Legacy staff was able to help support Kim by providing education regarding pregnancy and infancy and by talking through things such as how to talk with her parents about her being pregnant. Kim’s boyfriend was able to take part in our fatherhood mentoring program, meeting other positive male role models that helped him to see the important, God-given role that being a father is. Kim and her boyfriend participated in the Christmas Hope List where sponsors are able to help Legacy clients by buying gifts for the parents and their baby. Among her favorite gifts was a devotional that was included in a gift bag. She participated frequently in our monthly mommy groups, making friends with other moms in similar circumstances. Kim is now the happy mother of a beautiful baby girl reminding us all that no obstacles are too great and that

“Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from Him.” ~ Psalm127:3.

Stepping into the Virtual Learning SpaceBrightcourse and Telehealth are how we have and plan to continue to reach out off-site virtuallyLegacy continues to reach clients in need in creative ways during this unique time. During the initial appointment Options Counseling is taking place via video-conference which allows us to see clients remotelytominimizepotentialexposure.In-officevisits are still available for pregnancy tests, STI testing and treatment, and ultrasounds for abortion-vulnerable clients. Clients and their support persons are being gifted masks made by Legacy staff to wear and take home after this visit. We are happy to have educational support available via online lessons via Brightcourse which can be texted to clients. This allows them to continue to learn about the pregnancy and parenting while also earning Baby Bucks for the Baby Boutique which is currently being updated for summer!

Client Benevolence FundIn order to assist Legacy families who have lost their employment due to social distancing, Legacy has established a Client Benevolence Fund. Nearly $1600 has been raised. To date, these funds have allowed us to help clients with phone bills and other necessities. These families have been overwhelmed by their community’s love and support, instead of worry! Thank you to those who have already donated. You may donate online at www.legacypregnancy.org-->Donate. Select “Client Benevolence”.

Like all the pregnancy help movement, we are gaining new footing, learning new capabilities, and understanding new opportunities in a hurry so that we can serve today, for the mission we will most certainly need tomorrow.

We are grateful for the technology which allows us to reach out and help. But believers reaching out to help in times of epidemics precedes technology. Plagues, pandemics, and hysteria are not new to the world nor are they stepping onto the pages of history for the first time. Both Christian and non-Christian accounts, tell of how Christians have navigated epidemics, disease, suffering, and death in the past.

Clarity in mission helps us make better decisions in a crisis – whether sheltering in place or dealing with a shortfall in funding. The mission of pregnancy centers is not to operate a pregnancy center! It is to reach those facing life and death decisions about their pregnancy with the Gospel of Life! The pregnancy center is but a method. The mission is bigger than any one method. And these times are revealing that the mission can, and must, happen in different and innovative new

ways to meet changes in our culture, community, and country.

Today’s preparation determines tomorrow’s achievement! We are determined to be as prepared as possible so we can rescue as many lives as possible. It is a time to follow in Joseph’s footsteps and realize that what was “intended to harm,” God can use “for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.” (Gen 50:20)

Clarity of mission brings clarity in leadership. 2020 Vision is necessary to see clearly where we are and where we need to go, and how we need to get there. We are fully-armored for the missional adventure ahead.

Hope! Our greatest desire is that those reading this have eyes to see the hope of what it means to be in relationship with Jesus Christ. That is what we need now and want for the future. Keep hope alive and stay on target!

“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you may know what is the hope of H is calling”

Ephesians 1:18

Donating with matching funds

Did you know? Your employer may match all or some of your charitable contributions! Check with your company’s HR department to inquire and for details regarding amounts, etc. Some programs cut a check if an employee volunteers a certain amount of hours. EMIT Technologies allows employees to nominate organizations for its community reinvestment program.

Here are some local employers with a matching gift program. If you know of more, please contact us!

Legacy’s Endowment

Making a lasting gift has never been easier! Legacy partnered with Frontier Asset Management for our Endowment Fund because of the ability to provide an opportunity for people to leave larger gifts to Legacy, yet invest the funds in a manner that aligns with our values:

“Through our Christian Worldview strategies at Frontier, we provide the opportunity for biblically responsible investing which empowers the Christian to support companies that seek to uphold Biblical values and to avoid companies that don’t. We scrutinize each fund to determine their involvement in abortion, pornography, anti-family entertainment, non-biblical lifestyle, tobacco, gambling, and alcohol. This financial product allows us to invest in companies that uphold the views and values of our Christian clients.”

Donating to Legacy’s Endowment

We are grateful for your investment in the lives of young women, men, and unborn children. The Sponsor a Day program is helping us build a foundational income for the ministry of Legacy.

How does it work? It costs about $600 a day to run Legacy, so a partner that donates $50 a month ($600 year) is sponsoring one day of operations at the Center. A partner that donates $25 a month ($300 year) sponsors a half day of operations.

Partners who donate $25 or more a month, get to have a date of their choosing dedicated to their family. Thank you for your generous support of this ministry!

Sponsors who have the option to choose a date: Beckie & Lekan Ajayi, Chali Dobrenz, Harvey & Katie Fryberger, Teri Laya, Tim Lowman
