Established in Izmir, Turkey in 1976, Hatsan Arms Company
is truly one of the few self contained, wholly independent
firearms manufacturers in the industry today. Within the
confines of the Hatsan operation, the machining of wood
blanks into gunstocks, machining of metal parts, heat
treating, coiling, finishing, plating, injection molding,
welding, engraving and other production operations are
conducted, to serve as components in the final assembly of
Hatsan’s products. Raw materials alone - not pre-assembled
or prefinished sub-parts - come in one end of the Hatsan
factory, and leave the other end as completed, high quality
firearms. Hatsan maintains total control of all manufacturing
and assembly operations throughout its 161,000+ sq. ft.
production facility. Doing everything in-house not only
improves scheduling, but more importantly, assures the
finest in quality control. With 300 workers, 260 machining
stations including 31 CNC machines, Hatsan Arms Company
possesses broad, state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities
that make it one of the major producers of shotguns
in Turkey, and one of the largest producers of airguns
worldwide. Design and Engineering is achieved through the
most up-to-date 3D CAD system, while all synthetic and
metal parts - and assemblies - are analyzed through CAE
software. As testiment to their quality and innovation, Hatsan
Arms Company is ISO9001 certified.
Hatsan Arms Company
Founded in 1907, Howa Machinery, LTD is celebrating its
101st year of operation. Originally established as Toyoda
Loom Works, Howa manufactured and sold textile looms.
Over the years, Howa moved into the manufacture of cast
steel components, which then led to the manufacture of
a variety of machine parts. As Howa has grown, it now
manufactures Machine Tool Transfer Lines (production
line equipment), Flexible Transfer Lines and Flexible
Manufacturing Systems. In addition, Howa also makes
self contained machining centers, street sweeping equipment
and sound-proof windows for the commercial building
market. Howa’s diverse products serve the automotive,
computer, electrical, construction and firearms industries.
Howa has long been a rifle manufacturer, providing high
quality firearms to the Japanese military and police markets
as well as the sport shooting market, worldwide. Howa is

Armisport Chiappa was founded in Brescia, Italy in 1958 by
Ezechiele Chiappa and specialized in replica Black powder
and muzzle loading firearms. Over the past 50 years the
company has evolved into what is known today as “The
Chiappa Group” and is chaired by Ezechiele’s son Rino
Chiappa. The Chiappa Group has established a reputation
of providing quality firearms and services in a worldwide
market through experience and a commitment to its

Since its birth, in 1971, F.A.I.R.® has been specializing in
manufacturing functional and highly reliable shotguns for

In its four-thousand-square-meter factory, the company

F. LLI Pietta of Brescia, Italy plays an important role in the
production and supply of replica firearms and shotguns in a
worldwide market. Beginning in 1962 as a producer of single
barrel, side-by-side and over/under shotguns for the hunting
community, F. LLI Pietta branched out into the production
of muzzleloading revolvers in 1971 in response to the large
demand for reproduction arms of the U.S. Civil War era.
The immediate success of these initial revolvers then led to
expansion to include other famous models of that period.

Fausti’s trademark is well known abroad by all collectors and lovers of arms.
The company has also caught the attention of the international press, partially
because it is run by three sisters called the “Gun Sisters.” Elena, Giovanna and
Barbara have inherited the company founded by their father, Cavaliere Ufficiale
Stefano Fausti, and transformed it into one of the most dynamic entities in the
field of arms manufacture, with about forty skilled employees producing fine
quality firearms. Eighty percent of all finished product is sent abroad where the
“made in Italy” by Fausti is greatly appreciated. Thanks to constant development
and creation of new over/under and side-by-side models for the field or the range,
the three Fausti sisters are excelling in a field traditionally dominated by men.

Legacy Sports International, LLC was founded January 1, 2000. Since then, we have been selling and marketing the following products on an exclusive basis, throughout the United States: HOWA rifles - 8 years; PUMA rifles - 8 years; ESCORT (HATSAN) shotguns - 7 years; Nikko Stirling optics and BUFFALO RIVER accessories - 4 years. New in 2009 are the additions of Verona, Citadel, BUL and the Puma Westerner. Legacy Sports is proud of our reputation for being not only a good sales company, but also a proactive marketing company that develops the brand names of our suppliers in the U.S.A.. Legacy Sports is very selective of the products we represent, and perform extensive tests through H.P. White Laboratories to assure each product meets industry standards.

Gene Lumsden – President and CEO
Gene has been involved in shooting sports for over 35 years.
He began shooting competitive trap at the age of 12, and
continued competitive shooting for 10 years. He was a
member of the U.S. International Trap Team during his time
in the U.S. Army, competing against other countries in world
competition. He also represented Kreighoff International,
Inc. in major trapshooting events throughout the U.S.A..
In 1972, Gene left competitive shooting to begin a business
career in the shooting sports industry. During his career, Gene
has held management positions with firearms distributors
and importers alike, and was VP Sales & Marketing for
Interarms. His executive exposure in this industry has given
him extensive experience in international buying and selling.
In January, 2000, Gene started Legacy Sports International,
LLC. Gene not only markets firearms and related goods,
but also uses the products he brings to the U.S. market.
He was recently inducted into the California Trapshooting
Hall of Fame.
Andy McCormick – VP Marketing
Andy, a Pennsylvania native and avid hunter since childhood,
has been involved in hunting and shooting sports for over 25
years – from guiding for bear, moose, caribou and dall sheep
in Alaska to elk in Oregon. Andy’s passion for the outdoors
and sharing it with others is easily seen and conveyed through
his infectious enthusiasm he shares for the hunting and
shooting sports business. Andy has over 16 years experience
in the retail end of the shooting sports and gladly applies
that knowledge towards bringing new quality products –
with great value to the hunting community – at great prices.
Andy enjoys providing strong support to and among the
Legacy family of dealers across the USA that are continually
growing and learning that the Legacy brands are ones that
equal customer satisfaction and repeat business.

Howa/Hogue/HiViz .375 Ruger Rifle
The newly designed powerhouse caliber from Ruger and
Hornady, has a cartridge case that is slightly larger in
diameter than a .30-06, but shares the same overall case
length. This means the new rifle caliber/rifle provides shooters
with a standard length action, shorter bolt stroke and an
easier feed, while producing better ballistics than the .375
H&H magnum.
Using the long-recognized Howa barreled action known
for its strength, precision craftsmanship and accuracy, in
combination with the Hogue Overmolded™ stock, a proven
winner in non-slip gripping ability and shooting comfort, this
new Howa/Hogue is being marketed under the Howa/Hogue
model lineup that was originally introduced in 2006. Built
with a 20”, #2 contour barrel, the Howa/Hogue .375 Ruger
will be available in either blued or stainless barreled actions,
and with either a black or OD green Hogue stock and comes
with Hi-Vis #3 front and rear sights.

Howa/Hogue Ranchland Compact Rifles
Back for its second year, the Ranchland Compact combines all
of the best features needed in a compact, all-purpose “truck
gun”. The Ranchland Compact is built on the tough and
reliable Howa barreled action that features a forged steel, flat
bottomed receiver; large recoil lug and hammer forged barrel.
On top of that is a forged, one-piece bolt with two locking
lugs, an M-16 style extractor and three position safety. All of
this mounts in your choice of an OD Green, Coyote Sand or
Black Hogue Overmolded® stock.
This stock features a non-slip, cobblestone grip for sure
handling in all weather conditions, a fiberglass reinforced
skeleton for strength and pillar bedding for rock-solid
accuracy. The short, 20 inch lightweight barrel is free-floated
and the rifle has proven itself in the field as a real tack driver
with MOA, or better, groups at 100 yards.
New for 2009! The HOWA RANCHLAND series of
PACKAGE rifles (rifle and scope combo) will ALL come
with a one-piece scope rail! The bigger news is that
every Ranchland Package gun will come with a COLOR
MATCHED, Nikko Stirling 3-10x42 Nighteater™ riflescope
and rings. These scopes and rings are anodized to match the
color of the stock of the rifle. OD Green Hogue stocks will
have an OD Green anodized scope; Coyote Tan Hogue stocks
will have a tan anodized scope. In addition, the Ranchland
comes in a full camo dipped version (see next page for
details)! Of course, the black Hogue stock version will have
the traditional matte black Nikko Stirling Nighteater!
This short “truck gun” fits easily behind the seat of a pickup
truck, across the front of a quad or tucked into the cab of
farm equipment. It can be used in tight or awkward positions

Here is a fully camouflaged rifle and scope package
using the Howa M-1500 and a Nikko Stirling 3-10x42
riflescope with a one-piece base. Everything wears the
same camo –King’s Desert Shadow® pattern. Great
for prairie hunting, this package blends in to almost
invisible detection with sagebrush, greasewood and other
high desert foliage. The film is tough and impervious to
weather while colors are true to life.
Like all other Ranchland models, the Camo version comes
on a Hogue Overmolded™ stock and the Nikko Stirling

the Hogue Overmolded® rifle stock. Now, this configuration
is the backbone of the Howa rifle line in 2009. Howa
M-1500 rifles are well known in the shooting community for
their accuracy and ability to hold up under the toughest of
conditions.
Add to that the Hogue Overmolded® stock that features a
comfortable, soft grip to reduce shooting fatigue and still
provide a positive grip surface in all weather conditions. The
Hogue stock will not harden with age, and is impervious
to gun solvents and gun oils. It is built with a fiberglass
reinforced skeleton and pillar bedding for strength and
accuracy, allowing the barrel to free-float. The stock also has
a varminter style forend, built-in swivel studs and a famous
Hogue recoil pad.

Howa/Axiom Standard Barrel & Axiom Varminter
Axiom, Camo
Blackhawk uses a cam and spring absorber in the pistol grip
and another heavy spring in the stock tube. Both systems are
separate units from the forend, allowing the stock to absorb
recoil on impact. In addition, the Blackhawk Axiom stock
offers a full four inches of L.O.P. adjustment, from 11.5 to
15.5 inches overall length of pull. The Howa barrel is 100%
free-floated in the stock for the ultimate in accuracy. The Howa
M-1500 offers as standard many features found in much more
expensive rifles. Features like a forged receiver and forged,
one-piece bolt that are both ported for safety, a three position
safety, a one-piece guard and magazine box with hinged floor
plate. The bolt also features two locking lugs and an M-16
style extractor.
The Howa/Axiom is ideally suited for either bench rest
shooting or varmint/predator hunting. Five varmint calibers
are available in the 24 inch Heavy Barrel and three calibers in
the 20 inch Heavy Barrel version. The Standard Barrel Axiom
comes with a 22 inch barrel length and is available in
9 popular calibers.

Howa/Axiom rifles are available with two different scope
packages, depending on the base rifle purchased. First, the standard
barrel (#2 taper) Axiom comes with a 3-10x42 Nikko Stirling Nighteater
riflescope, and includes rings and one-piece bases. This Axiom is available
in black synthetic stock and comes in nine standard calibers as well as
three magnum calibers.
The Howa/Axiom also comes in a heavy barrel varmint version with
camo Nikko Stirling 4-16x44 Nighteater scope. This Howa/Axiom combo
comes with either a 20” or 24” heavy (#6 taper) barrel for greater heat

Howa Thumbhole Varminter and Varminter Supreme rifles
take performance to new heights. Built around the proven
M-1500 action, these rifles have 24-inch hammer-forged
bull barrels with recessed muzzle crown in either non-glare
blue or matte stainless steel. The M-1500’s acclaimed trigger
adjusts for sear engagement and weight of pull. A three-
position safety allows safe single-loading and secure bolt
lock-down. Recoil pads and swivel studs are standard.
The Varminter Supreme stock is designed with a raised comb
and rollover cheekpiece, a full pistol-grip with palm-filling swell,
a broad beavertail forend and vented stock for barrel cooling.
The Thumbhole Varminter adds a high, straight comb and a
more vertical pistol grip that’s ideal for shooting off a bench

BREAK-IN PROCEDURE FOR GUN BARRELS USING JACKETED BULLETS
For the first ten shots we recommend using jacketed bullets with a nitro powder load (Most Factory Ammo). Clean the oil out of the barrel before each shot using a simple window cleaner (like Windex®) which will soak the oil out of the pores. After firing each cartridge, use a good copper cleaner (one with ammonia) to remove the copper fouling from the barrel. We do not recommend anything with an abrasive in it since you are trying to seal the barrel, not keep it agitated.
After cleaning with bore cleaner, clean again with window cleaner after each shot. Use window cleaner because many bore cleaners use a petroleum base which you want to remove before firing the next shot. This will keep the carbon from building up in the barrel (oil left in the pores, when burned, turns to carbon).
To keep the temperature cool in the barrel, wait at least 5 minutes between break-in shots. The barrel must remain cool during the break-in procedure. If the barrel is allowed to heat up during the break-in, it will destroy the steel’s ability to develop a home registration point, or memory. It will have a tendency to make the barrel “walk” when it heats up in the future. We have all seen barrels that, as they heat up, start to shoot high and then “walk” to the right. This was caused by improperly breaking in the barrel (generally by sitting at a bench rest and shooting 20 rounds in 5 minutes or so). If you take a little time in the beginning and do it right, you will be much more pleased with the barrel in the future.
Look into the end of the barrel after firing a shot, and you will see a light copper-colored wash in the barrel. Remove this before firing the next shot. Somewhere during the procedure, around shot 6 or 7, it will be obvious that the copper color is no longer appearing in the barrel. Continue the window cleaner and bore cleaner applications through shot 10.
Following the initial ten shots, you then may shoot 2 rounds, cleaning between each pair of shots, for the next 10 shots. This is simply insuring that the burnishing process has been completed.In theory, you are closing the pores of the barrel metal that have been opened and exposed through the cutting and hand lapping procedures.
BREAK-IN PROCEDURE FOR BARRELS USING LEAD BULLETS
The same shooting-cleaning process may be used when firing lead bullets and black powder with this exception: shoot 2 cartridges, then clean for the first 30 rounds. Naturally, you will use a cleaner appropriate for black powder. You can also use harder lead if available to accelerate the break in. This will accomplish the same as the jacketed bullets.
It may take 80 to 100 rounds to break in with lead. That is why we recommend using jacketed bullets when possible. After this procedure, your barrel’s interior surface will be sealed and should shoot cleaner and develop less fouling for the rest of its shooting life.

Over/Under ComboNew for 2009 is a Verona combo set made for upland game
hunting! This over/under combo features two barrel sets, one
in 20 gauge and one in 28 gauge that are interchangeable.
The 20 ga. barrels are chambered for 3 inch magnum rounds
while the 28 ga. set is chambered in 2.75 inch standard
shotshell length. Both barrel sets feature five interchangeable
chokes in F, M. IM, IC and Skeet. Both barrel sets are 28
inches in length, have brass bead sights, automatic ejectors
and ventilated ribs. The receiver is chromed with a gold inlay
of a quail. The action features an automatic safety and single,
selective gold trigger. Stock is oil finished walnut with round

Information - Use of Fast-Twist Slug Barrel NOT FOR USE WITH LEAD SLUGS - You will not like the performance since the barrels will lead up severely. Lead slug ammunition is meant for smooth bore or very slow-twist rifling. It is fairly easy to recommend types of shells for pumps and bolt actions because of the solid lockup. But with autos, due to the different lock-up types, different action spring tensions, and different locations of the gas ports in relation to the front of the chamber, ammunition recommendation is not as easy. Different ammunition makers use different propellants even though none load hotter than 12,000 PSI. Due to the different types of propellants, peak pressure occurs at different locations in the barrel. With the gas ports being located in different areas from one model to the next, you must find the brand of ammunition that most closely matches your firearm needs. The bolt tightness or the spring tension changes the accuracy. Six out of ten guns of the same type may like one brand, but the other four may all take different types to get the same performance. The hammer strike or even the extractor pulling the bolt to the right changes the difference in the powder ignition. They weren’t built as match rifles, but the with right barrel and ammuntions, they can shoot like them.
