You asked for data on each state's total ependitures for its legislative branch on bo

a per-resident and a per-legislator basis.

 The attached table provides the requested information. Per-capita and per-legislator

calculations are based on (1) 2009 data (the most recent available) on legislative

branch ependitures from the U.S. Census Bureau's annual surve of government

finances, (2) state population data from the 2010 Census, and (3) the number of ea

state's legislators as of Februar 22, 2011 from the National Conference of State

Legislatures.
