LEGOLAND NEW YORK WILL BRING HUNDREDS OF HIGH-QUALITY JOBS

LEGOLAND New York will be a major win for the residents living and working in the Town of Goshen and Orange County, creating many job opportunities for those looking for positions from entry-level park employees to career hospitality professional roles.

Overall, it will create 500 permanent jobs in the technical trades, management, retail, food & beverage and administrative areas.

LEGOLAND NEW YORK: ADDRESSING TRAFFIC

LEGOLAND New York proposes comprehensive traffic upgrades and improvements throughout the area, including lane widening, new turning lanes, new traffic signalization, new signage, extending acceleration and deceleration lanes and ramp improvements on NYS Route 17.

• The majority of visitors will come to LEGOLAND in the opposite direction of commuter traffic. In addition, peak times for car volume are typically after the morning and afternoon commuter hours.

• To ensure traffic does not back up onto public roads, LEGOLAND has been designed with a main access road, which is 3,000 feet long. This will allow for vehicles to stack on the LEGOLAND site, rather than backing up local roads. Visitors will also pay for parking upon leaving the parking lot, to ease the arrival of vehicles.

A PLAN FOR WATER AND SEWER, NOT IMPACTING LOCAL RESIDENTS

LEGOLAND New York has a plan to be ecologically sensitive and a good neighbor regarding water and sewer. The theme park will be paying for municipal water and sewer from the Village of Goshen, which eliminates potential impacts to groundwater at the site and to all adjacent users of groundwater.

• LEGOLAND New York has offered to dedicate – at no cost – two high-producing wells to the Town of Goshen. These wells could be used by the Town to supplement the Arcadia Hills water system, which has historically suffered from low levels of water. This would be a significant benefit to Arcadia Hills residents, who have historically suffered from low levels of water.

• LEGOLAND New York will not impact local aquifers because, based on Orange County data, there are no aquifers beneath the site.

• LEGOLAND New York is designed to avoid disturbances to onsite wetlands and wetland buffers.

For further information about the proposed LEGOLAND New York project please visit us at the LEGOLAND Community Welcome Center located in the heart of the Village to understand more about the project, ask questions and see plans.
