PROGRAM & COURSE CANCELLATIONSPrograms may be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment. In the event of a program cancellation, participants will be notified with as much time as

possible (minimum of 48 hrs); a preference for transfer into another available program, credit on account, or full refund will be offered. Register early to avoid disappointment!

Looking to bring some fermentation practices into your kitchen, but not sure how to get started? This workshop is for you! The resurgence of the age-old practice of fermentation is greatly due to its incredible affect on health, but also recognized because of its versatility, and distinctive, body-loving taste. In this workshop, we will discuss how fermentation works, why these foods contribute so highly to proper digestive system function, immune strength, and how to incorporate them easily into your regular diet. You will enjoy a variety of fermented foods and drinks, and watch live, hands-on methods you will be able to re-create and experiment with at home.

Unwind the body and calm the mind in this mellow yoga practice. Take time to connect the breath and body to release physical tension and clear the mind. Work on flexibility, balance and strength in a gentle way. Leave feeling calm, peaceful and ready to face the week.

 **This class is suitable for people able to navigate postures which are lying, seated, kneeling and standing, as well as the transitions between.**

Basic options and variations will be provided. Bring a water bottle and an optional blanket/pillow for our final resting posture.

Yoga props and some mats are available for use at the center.

Begin to Run/Keep on RunningLisa Tadesco – Certified Coach

Salmo Recreation Center

Do you want to start running? Are you running a little but want to go farther? This 12-week session offers two program options at the same time. Begin to Run will get you from zero to running 40 minutes non-stop. Keep on Running is designed for those who are currently able to run 30 minutes non-stop 2-3 times per week and are interested in getting up to the 1hr mark.

The programs will start with road running and then branch out onto local off road and trail options as you get stronger and the days get longer. It will also include talks on equipment, stretching, training and nutrition. Participants will need to do two other runs or run/walks on their own time throughout the week to keep up with the program. 

The cost of the program includes your Salmo Valley Trail Society membership and registration to one of their 5 km fun runs as a graduation (early June or July 1).

Pitching OR Catching Kids Kids 9 – 15 yearsAshleigh Beard

Pitching: For beginners we’ll look at the basic mechanics of windmill pitching (gripping the ball, wrist snap, arm circle, driving with the legs). For more advanced pitchers, and as the beginners advance, we’ll look at adding more speed to the basic mechanics as well as an emphasis on location and movement of the pitch and other pitches (ie: change-up, drop, etc.). Children can register for both Pitching and Catching.

Catching: We’ll cover in-depth aspects of blocking, framing the pitches, throwing to the different bases, speed, and game management. {Catchers need to wear a jill pad} Children can register for both Pitching and Catching.

Whether you are looking for a starting place, have a fitness goal, or need extra motivation our CFES and BCRPA trainers will set you up with a tailored program that maximizes results. We strongly recommend a Fitness Assessment to all new clients to allow our trainers to fully understand your needs. Single sessions are for existing clients only that do not require an assessment.

Information Packages are available in the Fitness Centre office and must be completed and returned with payment prior to booking your session. All Personal Training packages expire 6 months from the date of purchase except in the case of a medical note.
