EDITOR’S LETTER

“Once you realize that you can actually build your true dream

house, it’s hard to go back to anything else.” —Mandy Moore

Founded in Los Angeles nearly 100 years ago—yes, 2020 marks

our centennial!—AD has a long history of charting the tides of

domestic taste via celebrity homes. Most recently, these have included

the roster of big-name talents we’ve pulled together here. I’m

always fascinated by these personal stories and the glimpse they

provide into the off-duty hours of people we all feel we know

so well. And I’ve been struck by how down-to-earth and house

proud the owners always are, even as they seem wildly fortunate.

Though they’ve reached stardom in a variety of fields, all have

discovered a passion for design, and all were eager to share their happy places with us—and you!
