HELPING YOUR PATIENTS WITH PHOTOPHOBIAWhat is ItPhotophobia, or light sensitivity, is a condition associated with extreme sensitivity to light. It can cause reactions like

squinting, continual blinking, excessive tearing, even headache and nausea.

What Causes It Most people with photophobia have an underlying condition. Migraine, chronic headaches, chronic dry eye, blepharo-

spasm (involuntary closing of the eyelids) and brain injuries are some of the conditions associated with photophobia.

HOW ARE AXON OPTICS LENSES DIFFERENT THAN BLUE BLOCKERS?

HOW ARE AXON OPTICS LENSES DIFFERENT THAN REGULAR FL-41?

Blue blockers are not the same as Axon eyewear: • Blue blockers are for general eye fatigue caused by blue light from digital screens. They are for the general population. • Axon Optics lenses are for photophobia and migraine. They are specifically for those who suffer from these conditions.

Blue blocker tints may make an environment appear brighter and may reduce eye fatigue, but they do not block the light spectrum shown to aggravate migraine and light sensitivity. Axon Optics lenses block blue light wavelengths, but also the spectrum shown to aggravate migraine and light sensitivity.

FL-41 is a generic tint that has been shown to help with conditions associated with light sensitivity. However, the effectiveness of the generic tint varies greatly among competitors. Axon Optics is the original seller of therapeutic FL-41 tinted lenses online. Having been fine-tuned over 20 years of clinical practice, it has been used by tens of thousands, so we know it works.

HOW ARE AXON OPTICS LENSES BETTER THAN REGULAR SUNGLASSES?Most sunglasses dim all the colors of the visible light spectrum, not just the portion that's especially irritating. As a result, people with light sensitivity often feel the need to wear dark glasses to get temporary relief. However, wearing dark glasses can make light sensitivity much worse, “dark adapting” the eyes and making them more sensitive to light. Axon Optics lenses filter the light most distressing to people with light sensitivity (photophobia) and its associated conditions, bringing relief without increasing light sensitivity.

ARE OTHER PINK TINTED LENSES AS EFFECTIVE AS AXON OPTICS?Pink tinted lenses are NOT the same as Axon Optics SpectraShield. Axon Optics lenses have been precision-developed specifically for photophobia and migraine.

WHAT DATA DO YOU HAVE TO BACK UP THE EFFICACY OF YOUR LENS?The best way to manage photophobia is to treat the underlying cause. Multiple studies have shown a clinical benefit when wearing FL-41 tinted lenses blocking the troublesome light. Axon Optics SpectraShield FL-41 lenses are specifically designed to be used safely without resulting in dark adaptations in the retina. WILL IT TAKE TIME TO ADJUST TO MY AXON EYEWEAR?Most customers experience no adjustment period with Axon Eyewear and feel immediate relief. However, some customers who switch to a strongly curved or wrap frame can experi-ence temporary discomfort. This usually dissipates within 48 hours. We recommend wearing your Axon lenses continuously, without going back to your older glasses. Eyes will only adjust with continual exposure to new lenses and frames. There are no known side effects from wearing our lenses. If you find that the discomfort does not go away, please return them to us. We offer a full refund or exchange credit for glasses returned in new condition within 30 days of purchase.

HOW DO I KNOW IF AXON EYEWEAR IS EFFECTIVE FOR ME?One week is usually a good trial period. Glasses in new condition may be returned within 30 days of receipt for a full refund, minus shipping costs. Customized products such as prescription glasses, lenses in your own frame, and contact lenses cannot be refunded, but can be redone for 50% of the original price within 90 days of original purchase.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET MY GLASSES? Non-prescription and standard products ship within 48 hours. Shipping times are estimated after processing and may vary depending on the selected shipping service. Prescriptions and other custom products take approximately 3-4 weeks plus shipping time.

WILL AXON OPTICS LENSES HELP ME WITH MY MEDICAL CONDITION?Light sensitivity and eye strain can be symptoms of many medical conditions such as migraine, Blepharospasm, and visual snow. Our SpectraShield FL-41 is highly effective for about 90% of our customers.
