Isosceles Triangle: at least two congruent sides (legs), and two congruent angles (base angles)

Isosceles Triangle Theorem: If two sides of a triangle are congruent, then the angles opposite

those sides are also congruent.

Converse of Isosceles Triangle Theorem: If two angles of a triangle are congruent, then the

sides opposite the angles are congruent.

Lesson 4-5: Isosceles and Equilateral Triangles

Theorem: The bisector of the vertex angle of an isosceles triangle is also the perpendicular

bisector of the base.

If a triangle is equilateral, it is equiangular. (and vice-versa)

1. The perimeter is 54 feet. Find the value of “x” & “y”, and the length of each side.

2. Find the value of “t”. 3. Find the value of “z”.
