    The Wonderful Good News ofSalvation

The first three chapters of the Bible

(Genesis 1,2,3) tell how sin entered thisworld; and the last three chapters of theBible(Revelation 20,21,22) tell how sin

will be removed from the earth. Thechapters between tell how God related to

this awful tragedy. The punishment forsin is death, Romans 6:23. The ugly

cancer of sin could not be tolerated, else itwould endanger the universe.

The super-tragedy of sin is that when Adamand Eve disobeyed, sin passed to all mankind, and thus all people from that time to the

present, face the death penalty. So Heaven wassuddenly confronted with a horrible dilemma:either sin would have to be excused and

tolerated (thus jeopardizing the universe) or allpeople on planet earth would have to die. Godflatly refused both options. He could not stand

the thought of separation from His earthlychildren, whom He dearly loved; nor would Hepermit the ugly sin virus to rule the universe.

Instead, in an act of unbelievable

risk and love, He chose to send Hisonly Son (who is Himself God) into

the world to die in your place andmine. Our sins and our death

penalty were placed upon Him andwe were set free.
