1.Checking attendance

2.Warm-up

T. tells the pupils 7 definitions of certain things, in order to form the words:

Ss listen carefully to the T. and write on the blackboard and on their notebooks the respective words, realizing that the name of the new lesson is Passive Voice.Blackboard, chalkTo check the accomplishment of given instructions, and to understand the name of the new lesson

3.Checking homework

T. checks if the Ss had any homework. Ss tell the t. they didnt have any homework.NotebooksTo check the accomplishment of given instructions

4.Announcing the new lesson and the objectives

T. writes on the blackboard the name of the new lesson. Passive Voice .

T. tells the Ss that they will learn the rules of the Passive Voice for the Present Tense Simple, Past Tense Simple and Future Tense Simple and the changes that occur.

5.Introducing the new lesson

T. gives the Ss a new text and reads it. After that the T. tells the pupils to observe the verbs and to underline them.

Then he explains them that the respective verbs are in the Passive Voice. T. begins to tell the Ss the changes that occur:

- the Subject becomes the person who does the action , but it doesnt suffer it (receives the prep. by )

- the Direct Object becomes the Subject.- the verb from the Active Voice is written in the Past Participle or gets the ED ending.

- the auxiliary TO BE receives the time and the aspect of the verb from the Active Voice.

T. gives the pupils an example for the Future, Past and Present:

Present

AV We serve breakfast at 7 a.m.

PV Breakfast is served at 7 a.m. by us.

PastAV They delivered the milk.

PV The milk was delivered by them. Future

AV I will say a story.

PV A story will be said by me.After that the T. explains to the pupils that there are verbs which can have two Direct Objects, so we can make two sentences in the Passive Voice.

Then, the T. shows the pupils that the pronoun I becomes by me, you- by you, he- by him, she-by her, we- by us, you- by you, they- by them. Ss receive the text and underline the verbs that are in the Passive Voice .Ss pay attention to the T. and take notes.

Ss write in their notebooks the examples.Blackboard, chalkBlackboard To observe and understand the changes that take place.To understand better the Passive Voice.

6.Acquiring performan-

Activity 1. T. tells two students to go in front of the class and make o sentence with a transitive verb. Another one should put that sentence into a Passive form.T. asks the pupils to write on the blackboard the new formed sentences.

The other Ss are asked to correct their colleagues, if necessary.

Activity 2. T. gives the students, who are split into groups, to arrange the mixed words, to make a sentence and to put it inot the Passive.

Activity 3. T. shows them a Power Point presentation with three images and they have to explain what they see, using Passive Voice.

Activity 4. T. gives the Ss a worksheet with exercises that help the pupils understand how to transform the Active Voice into the Passive Voice. Ss do as required and correct their colleagues if they make a mistake.Ss arrange the words and write the Passive sentence on the blackboard.

Ss make sentences.

7.Feed-back T. asks the pupils about the theme that they have debated. Ss answer that the theme was the Passive Voice.Getting a proper feed-back

8.Assigning the homework T. asks the pupils to make 5 sentences and to transform them into Passive Voice.Ss write the instructions on their notebook.

PASSIVE VOICE

Ruth Rendell won the Sunday Times Literary Award in 1990, and in 1991 she was awarded with the first place for her contribution in Crime Writers Association. In 1996, she was awarded the CBE, and in 1997 she was made a Life Peer. Her books were translated into twenty-five languages and nowadays are published , by the editors in United States. Ruth Rendell was married, had a son and 2 grandsons and lived in London. Her fame will be known by many Americans thanks to the big publishers.
