CLASS: Fifth Grade A-C
LENGTH OF THE LESSON: 40 MINUTES
CLASS DESCRIPTION: There are twenty-three students in this group, all of them are between
ten and eleven years old. They have English classes twice a week, each class lasts forty
minutes. This group of students works at its pace, which is rather slowly. Their proficiency level
is A1.
SKILLS TO BE EMPHASIZED: Listening, speaking, reading and writing.
LANGUAGE:
Vocabulary: sports, sports equipment, action verbs (jump, run, throw)
Grammatical structures: Present Simple: Do you like cycling? Is it a team sport or an individual
sport?

AIMS:
By the end of this class students will have reinforced vocabulary regarding sports plus the
grammatical structures/kind of language we have presented them with. The idea is to
consolidate, through repetition, what we have been working on so that we are ready for the
upcoming test.
MATERIALS:
- whiteboard
- markers
- flashcards
- photocopies
Anticipated problems: Some students could have problems in the understanding of some new
structures presented-

Possible solutions: We will provide them the necessary help in order to overcome that
problem using visual aids, gestures and making a wise use of L1 and L2

there will be letters. They will
have to put those letters in order
to form the right word (sports

Then we will classify them into
individual sports or team sports
and the piece of equipment
corresponding to the sports.
