M Didi has a box with 25 chocolates and K Didi has a box with 10 chocolates. Which one ll you choose? How did you choose? Raise hand and answer 2-3 Explain why comparing is important Take out the notebook 3-6 Today we will learn to compare numbers(note down objective) We ll do this using the number line. Can anyone come up and draw the number line. Explain positive and negative. Note down objective Someone draws number line on board 6-11 Write 5 and 3 on the board. Mark it on the number line. The one on the right is always bigger. Circle it CFU(cold call) Refer to the chart. Watch the board. Watch the chart 11-14 This is the hungry crocodile. He is always hungry. So he ll always eat the bigger number.(place picture on the board) Draw symbol. This is the greater than Watch the board 14-20 Refer to the chart at ALL times First we draw the number line Mark the numbers (-5 and 2) Circle 2 because it is right most Hungry crocodile will eat which one??(pick someone) Use hungry crocodile and draw image CFU(Thumbs up or down) Students draw number line Students mark the number Circle 2 Raise hand and answer Students show thumb up and down 20-25 Repeat for negative nos 25-35 ASSESSMENT
