(Appendix A: Powerpoint Slide 4)Teacher invites pupil volunteers to share their responses.

Each pupil is given an activity sheet. (Appendix B).Pupils will be tasked to work in groups of five to complete and perform the activity. They are to read the given commericial and discuss ways of delivering and acting out the radio commericial together as a team. Pupils will be given 10 minutes for discussion and practice.Teacher motivates pupils to be as creative as possible by encouraging them to consider the lingering impression the commercial will make on the listerners—the music or sound effects as useful elements. Teacher also encourages pupils to bear in mind the tone, clarity and speed and fluency used when they are practising their delivery.Teacher facilitates by providing guidance and ideas to groups with difficulties. When the time is up, teacher calls upon the groups to come forward to perform their radio commercial to the rest of the class.Teacher then provides feedback to individual group performance.

PRODUCTION (40 minutes)Pupils will be seated in their original groups of five.Teacher distributes activity sheet (Appendix C) to all pupils. Before the class begins the activity, teacher directs pupils to follow the instructions and guidelines provided on the activity sheet.

Teacher reminds pupils about the choice of vocabulary used when planning the script, that it is important to employ words that add enticement to the product. Teacher also reminds pupils about the other features to be incorporated when they are practising their script, such as the tone, clarity of voice and speed and fluency. (Allow pupils to view Appendix A: Powerpoint Slide 4 for reference while working on activity.)

After every group has finished the task, teacher calls upon each group to come forward with their script to present and perform their very own radio commercial.Teacher will take the opportunity to refine any language errors and provide feedback on groups’ strengths as well as possible areas for improvement.
