Level: Pre-intermediate Lesson type: Speaking and WritingSubject: Lets be friend-Describing people using physical appearance adjectives and personality adjectives

Time: 50 minutes Specific Objectives: By the end of the class: Students will have used in sentences of their own vocabulary related to the topic of the lesson: Describing people

Students will have described his/her friend using the specific vocabulary

students will have wrote a complete description of a person, using both physical appearance adjectives and personality adjectives by using ideas from the classSkills: speaking, writing

Methods: pair work, conversation, paragraph writing

Aim to introduce the topic

-to develop speaking skills

Procedure: The teacher tells the students that today they are going to discuss something common for them: FRIENDS. The teacher writes the title of the lesson( Lets be friends!) on the blackboard and initiates a discussion about friends starting from these questions:1) Do we need friends? Why( not)?2) Do you easily make friends?

3)How do you choose your friends?

4) Name three adjectives describing your ideal friend?Interaction: teacher-student, student-student,student-teacherTime: 7 minutes

Activity 2

Aim: to develop speaking skillsProcedure: The teacher writes some personality adjectives on the blackboard, she tells the students to copy them in their notebooks in two columns: positive and negative meaning and to choose five of them to describe their partner. Then she tells them to use both physical appearance and personality adjectives in the activity that follows. They can also come up with some new personality adjectives of their own.Personality adjectives: reliable, courageous, passionate, dynamic, communicative, calm, modest, inflexible, envious, charismatic, optimistic, jovial, irresponsible, charming, shy, sociable, immature ,determined ,generous, arrogant, superstitious, bad-tempered, selfish, absent-minded, hard-working, rebellious, reliable, happy, independent, caring, foolishPersonality adjectives Physical adjectives

2. The teacher tells them to look at the pictures from page 16 and write down one or two sentences one or two sentences that immediately come to mind.

Time: 7 minutesActivity 5Aim: to develop speaking activityProcedure: The teacher asks the pairs of students to choose a spokesperson who will read or present the description of the person in their picture to the class. This is what each spokesperson will do with his/her picture and the other students will recognise some of the characteristics they thought of. - to make students compare the way they used the personality adjectives in their sentences and the context in which they are used in the worksheet

Procedure: The teacher gives the students a worksheet with personality adjectives which students have to use in the right context.
