    as well as inferences drawn from the text.

    Integration of Knowledge and Ideas7. Analyze the extent to which a filmed or live production of a story or drama stays faithful to ordeparts from the text or script, evaluating the choices made by the director or actors.

    Production and Distribution of Writing6. Use technology, including the Internet, to produce and publish writing and present the

    relationships between information and ideas efficiently as well as to interact and collaborate with

    others.

    TuesdayLearning Objectives

    Students will be able to research themes online and connect their findings to the texts. Students will be able to recognize and analyze historical context.

    Activities

    Students will participate in a webquest. They will use internet links to research a certaintopic related to their novel. They will answer a series of questions and complete a writing

    assignment.

    Wednesday

    FIELD TRIP

    If we have time before we leave for the trip we will review their packets and discuss the endingof the novel.

    Thursday

    Learning Objectives

    Students will be able to organize research in a meaningful way and be able to share theirknowledge with others.

    Students will be able to close read (analyze) a quote.Activities

    Students will complete their webquest packets and present their information to the class.This activity allows students to apply their knowledge and works as an assessment.

    As a class we will review their novel packets and prepare for the final assessment. Rm.292 will watch a part of the movie The Crucible and discuss the differences, how

    form changes the story and the choices that the director made.

    Rm. 295 will be re-taught figurative language and complete a creative activity that willassess whether they need more instruction on the topic.

    FridayLearning Objectives

    Students will be able to display their knowledge gained throughout this unit. Students will be able to write a concise and well developed essay analyzing the text.

    Activities

    Students will take both a vocabulary exam and a final assessment on their novel. Theassessment will consist of multiple choice, short answer and an essay portion.
