Lessons Learned

October 27, 2011 Paycloud launched and since then the number of merchants has nearly quadrupled from the beta’s success in Chicago, IL

With agents across the country talking about Paycloud with their clients and prospects we’ve learned a great deal about how to successfully sell Paycloud, and would like to share those lessons with you

Top Lessons LearnedTop Lessons learned:• How to foot canvas• What to say• Who to sell to• How to close• After sales steps

How to Foot CanvasFoot canvasing is an effective way to sell Paycloud because it’s a difficult product to describe and easier to show

For best results, canvass between 11AM and 6PM and in teams of two

Decision makers are not always in their store, so be prepared to leave your card and marketing materials, but always get their names, numbers, emails and best way to reach them

Who to Sell toIt may be difficult to sell to merchants selling very high-end or low-end quality products

Don’t shy away from industries with infrequent customers, they may want to use Paycloud to push informational offers rather than using expensive deals of the day, or may know who would be a good fit

What to SayLead in with “Mobile Rewards Program” or “Paycloud’s a way to push consumers announcements, deals and offers”-speak their language

Don’t say loyalty, merchants don’t understand, instead say rewards

Give real examples to clarify what Paycloud can do, for example share that you can store their punch cards in a customer’s smartphone

Offer examples of offers and messages they may want to share on Paycloud

How to CloseAssuming the sale is most successful. Have one team member share your Paycloud pitch, while the other starts filling out the Paycloud Setup Form and Terms and Conditions. Share that you’re signing up their neighbors and want them on the map, too

Mention other merchants on Paycloud, how you helped them, offers they chose and why they said yes

Have marketing collateral and press clipping available and if they want to research Paycloud, setup a specific follow-up time and date

After the Sale StepsAsk for a time their available to follow-up regarding artwork and what offer they’d like to start with

Ask for referrals whether they say yes or no

Send in paperwork immediately to get their dot on the network as soon as possible

Cloverleaf all appointments sharing that you just spoke with their neighbor about Paycloud
