We’ve put together this visual story to help you prepare your child for their visit to the In the Night Garden Live Showdome. We hope it will help to make your visit as easy and as enjoyable as possible. Read the story together a few times before your visit – it should help you to plan your visit and help your child to understand what they will see, hear and do on the day. If your child has a particular sensory sensitivity or has an autism spectrum disorder, and you would like any further support or information before your visit, please contact us at [email protected]. We are going to see In the Night Garden Live. We will make a special trip to go and watch it. We will see Igglepiggle, Upsy Daisy and Makka Pakka in real life! We will watch it in a special type of building, called a Showdome. The Showdome is white and very big. When we arrive at the Showdome, there will be lots of other children getting ready to see the show.

When we are inside the Showdome, there will be lots of friendly people wearing green t-shirts. They work in the Showdome and will help us and show us where to go.

There might be lots of other people in the Showdome. We might need to line up and wait for other people to go in first. This is OK as everyone knows that they need to wait their turn.

If we need to go to the toilet we can go now, or whenever we need to during the show. The toilets are outside, we just need to follow the blue signs.

When it is time to go in to see the show, we will need to leave our buggy outside.

When we are ready to go in, we will walk along a tunnel and into a big room where we will watch the show.

We’ll find somewhere to sit on a big green seating stand next to lots of other people.

We are all very excited and ready to watch In the Night Garden Live!

The story will happen on a stage in front of where we are sitting. There will be special lights, sounds and music, but it will never be very dark.

We will see all of our friends from In the Night Garden, including Igglepiggle…

Makka Pakka…

and Upsy Daisy!

We will see lots of other characters too! There will also be some friendly people wearing green clothes and green hats on the stage. They are there to help tell the story.

We can stand up and sing and dance along if we want to…

…or we can sit down and cuddle up if we want to.

Some children may have bright flashing wands. If you don’t like looking at them, you can look away or cover your eyes.

If we need to go to the toilet it is OK for us to leave and come back in a bit. There are tables and chairs outside where we can sit and relax if we need to.

When the story has ended, Upsy Daisy, Makka Pakka and Igglepiggle will wave goodbye and go to sleep. We can clap to show everyone how much we enjoyed it.

Now it is time for us to leave and go back home. We will leave by walking through a different room that looks like this.
