Goal This project aims to provide a place where young people from Japan and the Asia Pacific region can cultivate their scientific thinking through STEM education. As part of the “TSUNAGARI Project” this long term activity will take place two cycles in the course of 3 years (1.5 year X 2 cycles). It will be conducted simultaneously in Japan and in several countries of the Asia Pacific region and by sharing various ways to view and understand the Earth, it will become possible to create opportunities to think about global issues from different perspectives. The results of this 3 yearlong activity, may be presented to science centers from all over the world, in the SCWS (the Science Centre World Summit) 2017 which will be held in Miraikan.

*Definition of STEM education. STEM comes from the initials of the words Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. It aims at creating people who give birth to innovation by integrating and systemizing conventional science and technology education. The EU, the U.S.A. as well as several Asian countries have set STEM education promotion as a top-priority issue.
