“Sportube is durable, adjustable, easy to handle, and easy to clean. Sportube is the best travel container for spearfisher-men and diving period.”
—Mike Van Haele (05 US National Spearfishing Champ
“I have used Sportubes now for over 6 years since our world meet 2004 in Chile. I wouldn’t travel with anything else. It is the most durable, dependable and user-friendly case ever produced. It easily adjusts in length to accommodate whatever equipment you are traveling with. When travel-ing with expensive carbon fiber fins and guns I need to feel secure about them arriving in perfect condition. Sportube has never let me down. This is such an easy product to endorse because no one make anything like it—done deal—get one and you’ll never need anything else.”
—Mike McGuire Sportubes are more than just a means of transporting spear-guns. I have recently used mine as a cooler for fish! After a good bath with bleach I loaded my spearguns back into my Sportube for the next adventure. Strong, durable and ready for action with my Sportube. Fill it up!
—Dan Silveira2010 USA Worlds Spearfishing Team Diver
“I have been using Sportube cases for over ten years now. I still have my original tube and it has taken a beating from the baggage gorillas. Despite the abuse, I haven’t had any damage to my spearguns. At one time I went through Mexico for nine years straight and to my horror have seen the case fall off the baggage cart, off the conveyer belt and off the luggage carousel, fortunately with no damage to any spear-guns. It is by far the best designed speargun case I have seen. I highly recommend Sportube to all the recipients of my custom spearguns so that they too can safely transport their gear when traveling.”

Why risk damage to expensive guns, spears and fins by packing them in a soft bag? Sportubes high density polyethylene plastic cases will protect all your gear whether you are checking it with the airlines, shipping it via FedEx/UPS or just loading it in the back of the truck. Listen to the Pros who have been using Sportube cases for years.

Bio:“Michael resides in Omaha, NE with his wife Annemarie and baby Isaac. He is very active in his Church as a devout Catholic and works in the IT field. Born into a military family, Michael was raised overseas and eventually moved to the Azores for three years where he was introduced to freediving and spearfishing. Several years later he picked up both again in the sand pits of the great plains after discovering the RMSA tournaments.”
Name: Jeff Hanauer
Bio:“Originally from Ohio, I lived in the Fl. Keys off and on over the years, although I have the time required, I don’t think the off and on would qualify me as a “Freshwater Conch.” As an uncertified diver I made about 20 dives in the Key West area before moving away. Then, right after earning my Masters Degree in my late 30’s I returned to the Keys and was offered a Mate job on a Fish/Dive charter boat. The boat was owned by a friend who was on the Mel Fisher-Atocha salvage crew that found and brought up the treasures. Working on that boat, I soon gave way to freediving over scuba. At that time I met my wife who was vacationing in the Keys and I ended up in Las Vegas where I started spearing and earned my SCUBA license. The last time I did SCUBA was on my certification dive eight years ago. At some point I took a spearing course with Julie Riffe which was a great benefit, but other than that, I taught myself through trial and errors while diving solo year round in the Lake Mead Recreational Area for about tens years.”

Name: Lucas FjellmanBio:I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. I have always enjoyed being athletic and outdoors. About 7 years ago I learned to scuba dive, in hopes of spearfishing for Ling Cod. What I found was an exacting hunt and a deep appreciation of the cold, dark world below the surface. A few years later I had the good fortune to meet a friend who was a committed freediver. He introduced me to the sport, and it wasn’t long before we had taken a freediving course, and I was diving deeper and more efficiently than I had ever dreamed of. Since then, I have devoted my spare time to exploring my local waters around the San Juan Islands, where I continue to work on improving both my diving and my spearfishing skills. I love both the water and the hunt, and am excited to be at the freshwater nationals in Lake Mead. Lucas Fjellman.

the best divers on the mainland!
Name: Jon Wolfe
Bio:Stoked to be back for my second Nationals! I live in the Puna District on the Big Island of Hawaii. I’ve been diving for a little over 3 years now, and have traveled all over for tournaments. I love competition! This one is challenging for Hawaii spearo’s, hunting strange fish in freshwater, against a field of very talented divers. Thanks for the opportunity to come and compete against some of the best divers on the mainland!

Thanks to all of our supporting sponsorsRemember that they supported your event!
Please support them in return! The Rocky Mountain Spearfishing Association would like to thank all our sponsors for the gracious donations and support of the 2013 Freshwater Nationals. Your generosity has helped establish a solid base for the growth of freshwater spearing.
Without your past, present and ongoing support, events like the Rocky Mountain Spearfishing Series and Freshwater Nationals would not be nearly as great and memorable as they have become.
