Letter from the Chairman. Dear Residents I do hope you will all enjoy the summer holiday period

and make use of our open space facilities here in

Orchard Park, these areas are inspected and litter-

picked each day, however if you notice issues

or excessive litter accumulating please get in touch

with the Clerk or Community Centre Manager on Tel:

01223 420750.

It was really nice to see many of you at our

annual family Summer Fiesta on 16th July, there were

lots of amusements and activities for children during

the afternoon and the adults were not left out as the

Fiesta was compered by ‘Heavy Soul’ who delighted

us with some great summer sound-tracks from past

decades. Each year we hope to build on this event

making it grow with our community. If you would like

to join the committee and help form a bigger and bet-

ter Fiesta next year, please get in touch.

Sadly crime on Orchard Park has increased during

2016, however the Community Council are liaising with

our crime prevention officers, who are working hard to

combat these unacceptable offences.

Increased patrols and surveillance have been

introduced and the neighbourhood watch programme

which is active within the community is being

refreshed with new members. For more information

on how to join please contact the Clerk at the

Community Centre.

Family play sessions

During the Summer holidays the (children and young peoples

participation service) ChYpPS will be running outdoor sessions

at the play park by the Community Centre every Friday in

August 1-3pm

General Market

September 10th will be our second market held at the open

space outside the shops.

The market will start at 10am and finish at 2pm

There is now a large selection of books in our free Library service at the

Community Centre

We are looking for more volunteers to sort and

rotate the stock.

Council Vacancies

We currently have two vacancies for Community Councillors, approximately 3—4 hours per week attending monthly

meetings and contributing to the running of Community events, finances and facilities. (Voluntary role).

We are also looking for volunteers to help with some general light duties within the community facilities.

Orchard Park Community Council

Reception/Admin Assistant – up to 16 hours p.w

£15,507 – £16,191 pro rata (SCP 11 – 13)

The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for the administration of Community Centre bookings, bank

reconciliation and general office admin. Attendance at occasional evening/weekend meetings and events is

required. Applicants should be team players with experience of similar work in an office environment.
