15 th July 2015 Geography trip: Iceland (10 th -14 th February 2016) Dear parent / guardian, I am writing to update you on the current situation with the Iceland trip, as a few amendments have happened since the meeting last week. Within a day of announcing the trip, we filled the majority of places and have now expanded the trip to take 40 students. We would like to thank all parents for supporting what will be a valuable experience for your son /daughter. We can now confirm that the total cost of the trip is £630, and this figure now includes two additional excursions and return transport to Heathrow from Forest Hill School. The payment schedule is outlined below: £100/£200 deposit paid by 17 th July 2015 £200 2 nd payment made by 23 rd October 2015 Remaining balance paid by 5 th December 2015 We have now issued students with a payment card and this card is the receipt for their deposit. When they make future payments they will need to present this card to pupil reception with payment, who will sign it and return the card to the student’s geography teacher to be returned. Return coach transfer between Forest Hill School and Heathrow airport has now been confirmed and added to the trip. We will advise you on pick up and collection dates next year. We have also added two additional excursions to our visit. This includes a visit to Hellisheidi Power Plant, the largest geothermal plant in the world and a trip to the ‘Eyjafjallajökull Erupts’ Visitors’ Centre. To ensure that you are fully up to date on all of the trip information we have set up a blog. On this blog you will be able to access all information that has been passed onto your son/daughter, blank copies of any paperwork that needs to be completed, the trip itinerary and other key information.
