Writing letters to SantaClaus has been a Christmas

tradition for children for many years.These letters normally contain a wishlist

of toys and assertions of good behavior orapologies for bad behavior! In the UnitedStates, letters are generally routed to NorthPole, Alaska.

In Britain it is tradition to burn theChristmas letters on the fire so they aremagically transported by the wind to theNorth Pole. In Mexico and other LatinAmerican countries, besides using the mail,sometimes children attache their letters to asmall helium balloon, releasing them into theair so Santa magically receives them.

The Southern Illinoisan, in partnership withCasey’s General Stores, decided to helpSouthern Illinois children make sure Santa hasthe opportunity to read their Christmaswishes. Here are their letters.
