To Bidders: This Addendum No. One is hereby made part of the Contract Bidding Documents (issued June 2, 2020) on which the contract will be based, and is issued to modify, explain and/or correct the original contract documents. Please attach this addendum to your contract documents and submitted bids and be otherwise governed accordingly. Receipt of this Addendum must be acknowledged on the Bid Form. Failure to do so may subject the Bid to be considered as non-responsive.

This Addendum consists of twenty-eight (28) pages.

Clarification to the Specifications:

All Requests for Information (RFI’s) shall be e-mailed directly to Todd Whitlock, Project Management Coordinator II at tgwhitlock@smcps.org .

Requests for Information:

Q: Who is responsible for geotechnical testing & inspections?

A: The general contractor is responsible.

Q: Does this project include a liquid adjustment for the asphalt price?

A: No, asphalt shall be at a fixed price.

Q: Does this project have a wage scale?

A: No.

Q: Is the contractor to supply the Soil engineer for testing?

A: Yes.

Q: Are we to supply our own engineer for lay-out and AS Built Documents?

A: Yes.

Q: Is there a Soils report?

A: Yes and it is appended to this addendum.

Q: I have included a copy of the existing Asphalt. Please clarify, if the area shown (in green) is to be Full depth paving or mill and overlay?

A: The area shown in green on the appended site plan shall be full depth paving.

Q: Note 3 on Sheet 4 of 17 indicates orange construction safety fence to be installed at the schools discretion. Will this be required? If so, can we get a location? If we can't get a location, can a Unit Price be added to the bid?

A: Orange construction safety fence will be installed in area shown on the appended site plan snip-it document.

Q: The OVERLAY PAVING SECTION on Sheet 2 of 17 indicates repair any damaged base course. Can we get a quantity to include on our bid or can a Unit Price be added to the bid?

A: All bidders shall include a unit price for damaged base repair.

Q: On Sheet 2 of 17, STANDARD PAVING SECTION shows SF surface course. OVERLAY PAVING SECTION shows 12.5 MM surface course. Should they be the same and if so, which one should we use?

A: 1 ½ “ Hot Mix Asphalt Superpave 12.5mm shall be used for all surface course applications.
