Level 2 Qualification in Sports Leadership

How the course will run:

• Over 2 academic years

• 5x1 hour lessons per fortnight

• Content will be delivered through practical sessions. Classroom

sessions will be used to support planning and evaluation sections of

course

Level 2 Qualification in Sports Leadership

What is the structure and content of the Sports Leaders course?

4 Units

1. Developing leadership skills

2. Plan, lead and evaluate sport/physical activity sessions

3. Assist in planning and leading a sports/physical activity event

4. * 10 hours of leadership

Level 2 Qualification in Sports Leadership

Unit 4. * 10 hours of leadership

Either Lead sport/physical activity sessions linked with the centre OrLead sport/physical activity sessions in the community

Opportunities to gain additional leadership hours could be through: A Sports Club, Saturday Active, The Paragon School or an external club

Tasks 1. Understanding skills and behaviours for effective leadership

2. Understanding skills for effective leadership in other environments

3. Evaluation of own leadership skills

4. Plan, lead and evaluate sport/activity sessions

5. Complete a risk assessment for a planned session

6. Complete an evaluation of three sessions

7. Planning an event

8. Evaluate the event
