instructed him to explain it to us. Nabee Muhammad �

accordingly explained and showed us the manner of acting

upon the Qur'aan. His words and actions are termed as

"AHADEETH" (Single - hadeeth) Allah � has ordered us

in the Qur'aan to obey Rasoolullab �- The only way to obey

him is to know Ahadeeth. Refusal to believe in, or act upon

Ahadeeth amounts to refusal co believe in, and act upon the

Commands of Allah and the words of Rasoolullah :Ws. This

leads one out of the fold of Islam.

Many books have been written, which contain detailed

actions and words of Rasoolullah :ll& Bukhaaree, Muslim, and

Tirrnizee are some of the famous works of Ahadeeth. Besides

these works many great scholars have also memorized the

words of Ahadeeth. There is great virtue in memorizing

People have different ways to decide who is the best among them. Some look at money, or beauty, ochers look at the family name, or the education of a person. The best person in the eyes of Allaah is one who is beneficial to people. He lives not to earn but to serve. He does not

only work for his comfort but is concerned about all those around him. We can help and benefit people in different ways. We can benefit people with our time, knowledge, skill, money, and strength. Can you think of five ways in which you can help or benefit another person?

Beware of jealousy. (Aboo Dawood)

Jealousy isa feeling of dislike towards a person whom you regard as having an unfair advantage over you. Jealousy creates a desire to see the person loose what he has. Jealousy does not allow us to act justly. It causes pride,

hatred, and leads to backbiting. Nabee �? has warned us against jealousy because it will destroy our good deeds just as fire turns wood into ashes.

Behave well towards people.

As Muslims we are taught to greet people, talk to people and deal with them with respect and kindness. Our manners are like clothes that cover and beautify our bodies. If we behave well cowards other people, and we encourage others to behave well, we will have peace and

happiness in our communities. Our behaviour is the best way of inviting people to Islaam. (Aboo Dawood)

Salaah is the key to paradise.

Allaah has placed us on earth for a very short time. We need to use this time correctly to earn our place in Jannah and save ourselves from the fire of Hell. Salaah is the key that will open the doors of Jannah for us. We have to safeguard this key by making sure that we never miss our

salaah. Nabee �? said: Command your children to read salaah when they reach the age of seven.

A person who harms his neighbours, by talking bad about chem, or causing disturbance to them will not enter Jannah. Our neighbours have certain rights over us. We must help chem when they are in need, give chem when they ask for a loan, visit them when they are sick,

sympathise and help chem when they are in difficulty. Can you think of five things chat may harm our neigbours? (Aboo Dawood)

Beware of cheating.

When we take something or do something dishonestly we cheat. A student cheats when he copies his homework, or when he copies answers when writing examinations. A businessman cheats when he sells goods without telling the customer that it is damaged. A child cheats when he speaks lies to his parents. Cheating creates hatred, and

distrust. A person who cheats has to speak many lies to cover his wrong. A person caught cheating is never trusted again. Allaah does not show mercy to one who is dishonest in his dealings.

When you enter a house, say salaam to its people, and when you go out,

leave by saying salaam to its peoples.

(Baihaqeyy)

The first thing we do when we enter our home is to make salaam, and the last thing we do when leaving home is to make salaam. When we meet salaam must be made before speaking about anything else. It is a dua of peace, which we make every time we meet, and each time we depart. Allaah rewards us for making salaam, it creates love among

believers and brings down the mercy of Allaah. Mention incorect habits when people entering their homes.

Thikr is to think about Allaah or co repeat any one of His names. The best Thikr is to say La ilaaha illallaah. Thikr is the polish of the heart. It increases our Imaan. It creates love for Allaah. It wipes our sins and helps us to

obey Allaah. Thikr is like watering the rose of Imaan in our hearts. Without water the rose will slowly die. When a person makes Thikr the angels surround him, and the mercy of Allaah rains on him,

Allaah is not merciful to one who is not merciful to people.

A Muslim is not harsh, cruel, and unkind. He believes that everything on earth is the creation of Allaah. He shows mercy even to animals. Allaah will treat us as we treat His creation. If we are kind, forgiving, and generous, Allaah will also be kind, forgiving, and generous towards us.

Allaah has called us 'the best ofpeople'because we encourage what is good and forbid what is wrong. (3: 110) This was the work of the Ambiyaa which was given to this urnmah. If we command the good and forbid the wrong, Allaah will accept our dua's and protect us from His punishment. If our friends does wrong and we do not tell

chem we will be guilty of not prohibiting the wrong. Give 2 examples when you will encourage your friends to do good and 2 examples when you will prevent them from evil.
