Students in group programs will be dismissed to parents from the front foyer at the end of class. Students not picked up on time from the front foyer will go to aftercare. Students in private music lessons should be picked up from aftercare.

Acceptance into classes is on a first come, first serve basis. The minimum number of students must be met for classes to run.

The OMS policy regarding student’s conduct will be in effect according to the rules in the student handbook. Violations of the rules may result in expulsion from the class with no refund.

Knucklebones Spectacular Sports focuses on strategy, fitness, and fun, allowing everyone to get involved and have a good time. Bringing all our own unique equipment, we’ll play traditional games such as hockey, soccer and basketball and add outside the box games like Poison, Gaga, and Castle ball. Ever tried to score points using a 4’ ball on a 6’inflatable tube? Welcome to Powerball! Everyone will be challenged, learn new skills and have a blast! Proper clothing and sneakers are required

Oak Meadow Concert Band Grades UE5-MS8 Director: Mr. Pixley Day/Time: Monday, 3:00-3:45PM Cost: None Year-long commitment and mandatory weekly attendance Concert Band is a performing ensemble for Upper Elementary 5th – 6th Years and Middle School. While there will be no cost for this program, registration for the full year, and a firm commitment to attend on a weekly basis are required. Students with frequent absences may be withdrawn from the program. Performances at Oak Meadow will be on December 4th at 6PM and May 20th at 6:00PM, together with the Concert Choir. Year-long commitment and mandatory attendance at weekly rehearsals plus concerts. Eligible instruments: Typical orchestral winds, brass and string instruments only. Examples: flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, sax, violin, cello, etc. It is strongly encouraged that each student also be studying their instrument with a private lessons’ teacher, since the Concert Band music can be quite challenging. Lessons are available after school at Oak Meadow, and nearby at several music schools, stores, and with private teachers we can recommend. Students not enrolled in private lessons must be able to learn their parts adequately, and may be required to demonstrate their readiness to the director before a concert if there are concerns. Please note that piano, guitar, harp, keyboard, drums and electric instruments are not eligible for this ensemble. Aftercare is not included – you will be charged if your child attends aftercare after Concert Band. Concert Choir LE3 – UE6 Director: Mr. Pixley Day/Time: Tuesday/Thursday, 7:55-8:25AM Cost: None Year–long commitment and mandatory regular attendance. The Concert Choir is an elective ensemble for grades 3-6. We will learn a variety of really fun songs in diverse musical styles. Concert Choir will meet every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 7:55-8:25AM. There will be no cost for this program. However, an email confirmation reply and a solid commitment to be on time and attend all rehearsals are required. This is a year-long commitment. Students with frequent absences or late arrivals may be asked to withdraw. Performances at Oak Meadow will be on December 4th at 6:00PM and May 20th at 6:00PM, together with the Concert Band. Oak Meadow Soccer Team

UE4 – MS8

Coach: Oak Meadow Faculty Day/Time: Tuesdays 4:00-5:30PM and Wednesdays, 3:00-4:30PM Classes run: September 24th – October 30th Cost: $300 Minimum number of students: 14

Practices start Tuesday, September 24th. Games will be announced when schedule is finalized. Oak Meadow is pleased to be a member of the (Montessori Athletic Conference of Massachusetts) or the “Big MAC,” an interscholastic league of 12 area Montessori schools. Students will practice twice a week, from 4:00-5:30PM on Tuesdays and 3:00-4:30PM on Wednesdays. The OMS soccer team competes against other Montessori and Independent Schools. Games are scheduled primarily on Tuesdays, with a complete schedule to follow. Participation includes practices and games (the majority of our games will be played at home) as specified by the Athletic Director and/or Coach. Practices and games will occur after school hours and students will be transported to and from the games in the school van by an approved driver. You must be able to commit to one practice per week. Oak Meadow Soccer focuses on building a positive team experience for all student athletes. Prior experience is not necessary. We will focus on skills, teamwork, and camaraderie in a positive reinforcing environment that includes healthy competition amongst Montessori Schools. Go Otters!!! The children will blow off steam after school and won't even notice that they build vocabulary and an ear for the new language. This is the best age to learn a language, and you will be surprised at the progress your child can make in just one session. No class: October 15th Cost: $468 Drums: The rhythm is all around us. The beat of your heart, the sound of the crickets, the rotation of the planets, it all has a rhythm! In this class, you'll learn a natural approach to rhythm through very creative, FUN and educational exercises. You'll learn the basic commends on the drum set and hand drums, read music notation, learn the basic drum rudiments and play along with your favorite songs. By the end of this course, you'll be able to join - marching band, school orchestra, a rock/pop/R&B or any other band of your choice. Piano: The piano is undoubtedly the king of all the instruments! This class is designed for very beginners to an intermediate level of playing. Learn to play different genres - from classical to pop and Rock. Learn the music notation, proper hand position, and right technique. The curriculum includes: piano method books, favorite classic, pop, rock, etc. songs, scales, arpeggios, and rhythm exercises. Explore the instrument, learn and have FUN playing!

In this class, students will have a great opportunity to learn and play any style and period of music according to their interest. Anything goes – classical, jazz, rock, pop. A good foundation of playing piano and theory knowledge will be presented.

No class: November 27th, December 11th, Cost: $390 Drum lessons Would you like to learn to play drums in a fun and interactive way? In this class you’ll learn the basics and more of drum set, snare drum and some percussion. We’ll be playing different drumbeats along with your favorite songs. You’ll learn to read drum notation and basic drum rudiments. Piano lessons I truly believe that you have to like the music that you play! So, in my piano class we will be playing only those songs that you like and enjoy playing. In this class, you will discover that there are many beautiful songs out there!
