Overview Founded in 2003, the Lycée Français International de l’AFLEC of Dubai is an establishment that is recognized by the French Ministry of National Education from the pre-KG to Grade 12 classes and comprising of 2300 students. The school is part of AFLEC (French-Lebanese Association for Education and Culture) group of schools. It is also a partner of the Mission laïque française (French Secular Mission) and the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE). With an exceptional passing rate at the baccalaureate and national diploma (brevet), the school offers an education program that is in line with the programs and instructions of the French Ministry of National Education and follows the guidelines of the UAE Ministry of Education (KHDA). The Reform of the Lycée: 2021 Baccalaureate
End of series in general: Students specialize in the courses that motivate them. The L, ES and S series shall no longer be and the students shall take common courses, the specialty courses that they have chosen and, if they wish, optional courses.
The final exams account for 60% of the final grade - 1 exam in French in 11th grade (written and oral). - 4 exams in 12th grade: 2 specialty exams, 1 philosophy exam and 1 final oral exam. - These exams are prepared based on the current baccalaureate exams’ sample.
The ongoing exams represent 40% of the final grade - 10% for taking into account the 11th and 12th grades transcripts in all courses to encourage the regularity of
students' work. - 30% for common exams of continuous control organized during the 11th and 12th grades years to promote
the work of the Lycée students. Remedial exams: A student who obtains a grade greater than or equal to 8 but lesser than 10 over 20, at the baccalaureate, can take part in remedial exams: 2 oral exams, in the final written exams’ disciplines (French, philosophy or specialty courses).
