Slides of this presentation can be found attached in Appendix C. The Community Navigator programme is interested in reaching less mobile older people who are less

likely to be able to access one of the programme’s Information Stalls out in the community. It is also interested in finding more dates and venues for its information stalls. To help with either of these, please contact Edyta Pyczek, Community Navigator, at: [email protected]

VOOPs

DB updated attendees on progress with the VOOPs survey. Slides attached in Appendix D. The outputs of the survey are currently being compiled into a report that will be sent to commissioners –

City of Edinburgh Council, NHS Lothian and Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership. This report will include recommendations for the best ways to incorporate the views of older people into the services that affect them.

Commissioners are expected to respond to the recommendations in the report by the end of September. A launch event for the report will take place on 13 October. Details to be publicised nearer the day.

Locality Launch Events

Within each of the new Health and Social Care Localities, the Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership (also known as the Integrated Joint Board or IJB) is developing ‘Locality Hubs’ which will bring together community staff from all sectors and a wide range of disciplines. The key focus for the new locality hubs will be delayed discharges for older people and finding new ways to ensure that older people remain in hospital for the shortest period possible and to strengthen the support within the community on their return.

As part of this development, EVOC, The Eric Liddell Centre, Health in Mind and Libertus Services have a team of staff placed within the new locality hubs.

To find out more, you are please come along to the one of our local events. These events are a chance for us to tell you about our role within the hubs and how you can become involved.

The dates of the LOOPs Community Wellbeing Programme meetings in the NW, NE, SW and SE are:

South West – 23rd August, 2:30pm-4:00pm at Eric Liddell Centre, 15 Morningside Road, EH10 4DP
