Liberty University6
In just over four short decades, Liberty University has grown to become the nation’s largest private, nonprofit university, and most importantly, the largest Christian university in the world. Liberty is providing world-class education to the next generation of leaders through our residential campus and online programs.
Currently in the midst of a $500 million campus reconstruction, Liberty is using its financial resources to build world-class facilities and programs. But our commitment goes deeper than just building new classrooms; we are building lives, remaining true to our original mission of Training Champions for Christ.
The purpose of this guide is to keep parents connected to Liberty and apprised of the services available to them and their students. Liberty has much to offer to make students feel at home.
Sending a student away to college is a milestone in the life of a parent, but it can also be a time of great apprehension as decisions are made for your child’s future. Parents can rest assured that at Liberty, the values they instilled in their children will not be undermined. We are committed to partnering with you in guiding your student through the challenges and triumphs of the next few years. Firmly grounded in a Christian worldview, our mission remains unchanged. Your student will have a wonderful college experience at Liberty University.

The purpose of the Office of Student Leadership is to develop the relational, leadership, and ministry skills of student leaders, enhancing their ability to effectively lead in any organizational structure.
Every on-campus student at Liberty has multiple student leaders in their hall. These students are committed to making sure every student is:
• Loved
• Cared for
• Prayed with
• Spiritually discipled
Prayer is one of the most important influences in the life of your student. Please join the staff and student leadership in praying for Liberty students each day based on Colossians 1:9-11*. Pray that:
Monday: They will know the WILL OF GOD
Tuesday: Their WALK will be worthy and pleasing before the Lord
Wednesday: Their WORK will be productive (fruitful) for the Lord
Thursday: Their WISDOM will increase about God
Friday: They will WITHSTAND trials and temptations
Saturday: Their WITNESS for the Lord will be strong
Sunday: Their WORSHIP of the Lord will be powerful
* “For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of His will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to His glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience…”

The Liberty University Police Department (LUPD) provides a safe and secure environment on campus. LUPD has officers on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Police officers have the same responsibilities and powers as those of a municipal police force.
Students must have a key to access their residence halls, and resident assistants perform nightly room checks to ensure all students are present. In case of
an emergency, students should have a dedicated speed dial for the LUPD Emergency phone number.
Additionally, an emergency campus alert system is used to notify students of critical situations on campus. We strongly suggest all members of the Liberty family to sign up for these notifications on the LUPD website. Campus parking information can also be obtained there.
