IT Services Remit•

IT Support - academic IT liaison services, desktop services, academic licensing support, and staff desk-side support

•Systems and Security - IT systems infrastructure, development and support. Including email, internet access, IAM, SNS, IT security, technical

architecture, and supplier relationship management

•Data centre services – system hosting, monitoring and maintenance

•Networks - voice and data network infrastructure, development and support

•Research Computing – research support, research applications, research storage services, and HPC

•Web Technologies - Intranet Portal, web development, mobile App services

•IT Customer Services - IT helpdesk, computer room support, direct IT support for students, Teaching Room Services including AV, VC, and

language lab support, UoN switchboard

•Service Quality - service definitions, change, problem and incident management, business continuity and continuous service improvement

Corporate Systems Remit•

Account Boards – Regular meetings with UoN areas to ensure business systems requirements (strategic/operational) are captured, assessed,

actioned

•Business Analysis – Working with UoN to identify business needs and determine appropriate solutions to issues/problems

•Corporate Systems – Maintenance, management of core UoN business systems, including development, administration and support

•Database Administration – Installation, configuration, upgrades, administration

•Management Information – Monitoring project activity/provision of centralised reports

•Project Management (PM) – Provision of dedicated PM support for key projects

•Programme Management – Planning, co-ordination, support of multiple projects

•Research Services – Access to Gartner and industry research to inform existing activity and for horizon-scanning purposes

•Resource Planning – Capture, tracking and on-going management of development resource to ensure appropriate skills are in place for key

projects/pieces of work
