Activity #1: cyber-cite

With your partner follow these directions together but on individual computers:

1. Go to bishopstang.com2. Under “students” click on “library” then “students projects”

then “Mrs. Seseske” then “To Kill a Mockingbird.”3. Go to the “MLA Citation” tab on your project libguide. 4. In the box that is titled “MLA citation help” complete steps 1-

3; read the description below the link BEFORE clicking on the link.

5. I suggest both in each partner group follows these directions so you can both take individual notes.

Activity #2: citation puzzle

1. Together with your partner, find one other partner group to make a group of four.

2. Please send one member of the group to Mrs. Thomas.3. With your envelope of “puzzle” pieces (citation

elements) and your “key” (what you are citing) find a table with your group and get started! You may use your notes and group discussion is encouraged!

4. When your group is finished, one member may raise a hand and Mrs. Thomas will check your work.

5. When your work is perfect, switch puzzle pieces with another group and do it again!

• Set up your own account (the instructions are on the MLA citation page on the project libguide) – write down your login information!

• Use any source (book, DB article, website, etc.) to test out Noodle Tools

• This is the start of the works cited document that you will turn in with this project!

Now it’s your turn!• Homework:– Send Mrs. Thomas an email with:

• Your class color and your first and last name in the subject line. (3 points)

• The body of the email should include:– 3 interesting facts about YOU (3 points) – 1 interesting thing your learned today (not about Mrs. Thomas,

but about the lesson itself) (1 point)– 3 sentences explaining the importance of today’s lesson. (3

points)Send your email to [email protected] before your next

session in the library.*This assignment will count as a homework grade and be

scored out of 10 points.*
