Supporting the freedom to

read as expressed in theAmerican Library Association

Bill of Rights.

Cooperating with the library indeveloping, maintaining and

enhancing facilities, resourcesand services for the public.

Initiating, organizing,

promoting, and encouragingcultural and educational

activities.

Procuring gifts, endowments,and bequests for the benefit of

the MDPL, as well as raisingfunds for library materials and

activities.

We have a number of different

membership levels available.

Friends are invited to a monthly

meeting on the last Wednesday of

the month in the Library. These

meetings usually last around an

hour.

The Friends of the Mechanicville

Library is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit

charity. Donations are tax

deductible.

There are two types of Friends members:"Contributing Members" who write a

check every year because they want tosupport the library, and "Active

Members" who serve as officers and/orvolunteer for committee assignments

and other Friends' projects.
